Service was just average although friendly. The atmosphere was exactly what a crab shack by the ocean would be.
In summary, everything was edible, But the the cat fish was excellent.
The quantity of food was plentiful. We split one main 1/2 pound meal plus each had a cup of chowder,
and had a little left over.
We got a pick 2 platter with the beer battered cod and fried oysters. We also got a pick three with again cod, oysters and then the fresh catch of the day which was sea bass and I got it blackened. We stayed basic with our sides being fries.
Oysters were great tasted fresh and the batter wasn’t over powering. The blackened sea bass was amazing! I definitely could have had it heavier seasoned but it’s a great amount for the regular crowd
Only disappointments were the beer battered cod and the hush puppies.
The cod was technically beer battered and was honestly very good however when I read beer battered I think of thick crispy batter New England style. This was very thinly breaded. Again super delicious but not what I expected.
The hush puppies were good but didn’t seem homemade which I would have personally preferred.
Prices seem a little high but what doesn’t these days.
Added photos and as you can see we really dug in!
Again would definitely go back just for Jennifer !
This hidden gem just became a favorite after one visit. The service was exceptional – friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.
The star of the show was definitely the seafood. The raw oysters were incredibly fresh, sweet, and briny, a must-try for any seafood lover.
We shared the fried pickles, shrimp basket, fresh oysters, okra, cheese curds, scallops, Mac and cheese and so much more. The fried foodwas perfectly crispy, light, and tender, a delightful balance to the creamy and decadent mac and cheese. We also tried the fried cheese curds, which were golden brown and gooey on the inside – a perfect shareable appetizer.
Overall, this restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with fresh, delicious food and top-notch service. I highly recommend it!
A taste of the coast was a nice change for the mountains. I will definitely be back for more.
