I don’t think I’ve ever left a public review for a diner/restaurant, but I need to share a few thoughts about this little gem. My love and I had spent the prior day at Mohegan Sun, and decided to spend the afternoon in Mystic before taking the ferry back to Long Island. We had been in the mood for a real breakfast – comfort diner food – after several nice meals at the casino. We literally drove past The Salty Heifer, I asked if she’d noticed the sign, she said she was about to say the same, so we pulled in about 1:20, and saw they were closing at 2. Evidently we had just missed the ribbon cutting ceremony, but the universe made sure we were there in time to eat.

Ronnie the owner our waitress Sara showed amazing hospitality! She gave top notch service and the food was FARM FRESH! They even have goats, but we missed them that day because it was raining. The ice cream was ADDICTIVE and homemade, I was sad I was missing the brisket special on the weekend but the French toast was scrumptious and my fiancé really liked the potatoes. We loved the family feel and the good food and will definitely come back , we wish this new restaurant all the best in the future !

Finally found a diner that makes omelets the right way and not scrambled eggs with the fixings in it. Will definitely be going back!!!

We stopped in looking for an old favorite and found a new one! Much of the food is sourced locally and was deliciously prepared. We will be back.

I just finished eating my first meal here and I am incredibly impressed!! The menu had all of the classics and there’s apparently always a special of the day. I chose the Steak and Chorizo Wrap which comes with the wrap, fries, coleslaw and a pickle. The wrap was huge and so very delicious!! The fresh peppers and onions enhanced the natural flavors of the steak and chorizo beautifully. The other aspect of the diner that I love is the atmosphere. As I sat at the counter, I observed people talking and joking with one another. Many people seems to know each other, but even those (like myself) who knew none of the diners were drawn into conversations. The servers and owners were talking and laughing with the customers which created an amazingly comfortable environment.

So myself and two others went here for breakfast on sunday. We had great staff and service. However, the food was not that good. In particular, the ‘farm fresh’ sausage. It was tough and overly spicy. To the point it ruined my appetitive. I was not warned it was either. And when I gave them feedback, they didn’t even take it off the bill. I had to pay that $5 extra. Additionally, my friend’s omellete had several egg shells in them. And her son’s bacon was paper thin and tasted like cardboard.
