We visited on the Salty Dog on the recommendation of our Landlady at The Panorama, a guesthouse located just up the hill, and we’re certainly glad we did. Business was booming when we entered, and having just arrived on the island we had not yet had time to make a reservation. The staff, though, jostled things around to fit us in. We were seated quickly and our order taken promptly. There was some confusion over my order of: “I’d like a dry martini with local gin” (I likely should have specified “I’d like a dry martini COCKTAIL with local gin” to avoid a mixup with a popular Italian vermouth of the same name), but no matter. The backup plan was a pint of Stinky Bay IPA, which arrived fresh and delicious. We tried the Sri Lankan curry and Peruvian Spiced Chicken Breast, and both were flavourful and nicely presented. Service throughout was friendly and attentive, the overall mood in the restaurant exuberant and professional, and we very much enjoyed our meal.

Pimm’s spritz was so good we went home and made our own!
Try the famous Salty Dog Prawns, Apparently they have been on the menu for 27 years, and rightly so!
This is the sort of place that we can see ourselves enjoying many cocktails in the sun on a kid free day!

Shout out to this restaurant because it was the only one still serving food at 8.30pm in St. Aubin… And eventually it allowed us to discover their amazing food!
I treated myself to scallops and pork belly to start with and I continued with Tagliatelle and local lobster. I loved all of it! Never had the lobster covered in cheese, it was so delicious!
Finally the service and the ambience: very friendly staff and regularly checking if it was everything good. The restaurant itself seemed beautifully renewed recently and their external area is also lovely on a sunny day!

We were very lucky to get a last minute bar table on Mother’s Day but it wasn’t quite worth it! The staff were lovely (slow but it was busy).
The food was very expensive for what it was, it didn’t have much taste. The starter risotto was quite big but very bland and the steak with scallop and prawn main was not cooked very well. We asked for rare but it was definitely medium and it was very chewy. Scallops cooked well though!
Not sure we’ll be back!

The name is a bit off putting, but still a decent restaurant/cafe. The prices are quite expensive, it’s located in quite a nice area. There was quite a long waits for our drinks, but the drinks tasted good enough, nothing that special, but nice. It is right next to a bus station which can come in handy.

Food was lovely. The starters were slightly disappointing, the asparagus and the prawn came with the calamari were a bit bland. The seabass with scallops was quite nice. The vibe in the restaurant is quite relaxing.
