The food is amazing, portion is terrible for the price for ONLY the steak grilled salad. MOST things on the menu are properly portioned, but not this. I paid 65 after tax (not including tip) and the salad was sooooo small. It was just steak and salad.. and not even a lot of greens. PLEASE FIX YOUR PORTIONS OR COST. I do like most things at this restaurant, for example the new Yorker is great, and well portioned for the price. However, this NEEDS to be fixed. Thanks! You SHOULD eat here, but don’t order this unless you have lots of money. It TASTES great though.

A great local restaurant in beautiful Downtown Amherstburg. Known for their many different wood fire pizza options. Excellent burgers and tacos as well. Great double outdoor patio as well. They do not take reservations but will take your name and text you when your table is ready. Take the time to walk down the beautiful waterfront across the street while you wait. Always unique monthly dinner specials that do not disappoint. Make sure to try their garlic Parmesan fries!

We stopped in on a saturday and it wasn’t too busy at all, I ordered the bee sting pizza and added feta cheese to it that was DELICIOUS and then my fiance got the dillish fish sandwich with the salty dog fries and that looked amazing he said it was super filling and my uncle got the bacon cheddar burger with the salty dog fries. Both sandwiches looked so tasty i definitely will come back here!!!

I absolutely love this place food is amazing very nice portion size great restaurant and awesome service. Love the calamari my absolute favourite and try those salty dog fries you’ll be hooked . This is a must try in amherstburg.

Such a great place! The patio is so neat. Food was really good, we tried the fried calamary and it was out of this world. We shared a pizza that was really good. The fries is the best we ever had. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. I will absolutely go back again.

Really good food and a great vibe. We always enjoy coming here when we visit Amherstburg. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken wing tacos. They aren’t too spicy, but you get the full effect of buffalo chicken flavour.
I’ve also had their pizza in the past and it’s also very good.

i come here often and it always delicious food an good people! on the first of november,my bf and i had everette? (not sure how to spell the name) and he was very nice and beyond helpful! guy deserves a raise for his service! we will be coming back:) what a good place and staff! they’re always really kind here and have excelllent service!!

I eat from The Salty Dog quite often – and whether you eat in or take out – the food is always fresh and delicious. They’re super accommodating too. I asked for a pumpkin espresso martini on the last day they were featured, and even though they were out of syrup, they made me a custom fall-themed martini instead. Love this spot! Bonus points for the chef with the black hair and glasses – clearly knows what he’s doing.
