Just simply amazing! Probably one of the best meals we’ve had in all of ours stays in Benidorm. We found this place from recent reviews, so when passing called in and booked a table for that night. We arrived at 8pm the restaurant was probably 75% full and a table for two had been saved for us as requested. Straight away we ordered drinks (shorts and mixers) and pomppadoms and dips, the chutney one got the taste buds tingling. For starters we had Chilli Chicken (wow) and Chicken pakoras and for mains, Lamb Bhuna and Mango Chicken (the Lamb in the Bhuna was so tender and well spiced) also Lemon rice and butter naan and their special naan which was the best naan I’ve ever tasted. Overhaul a lovely meal made even better by the hosts, and with a final bill (including drinks) of only €62! Definitely a must if you like a curry when in Benidorm.

Absolutely stunning food so flavoursome and I’d go as far as saying it’s the best curry I have had.
Well worth a visit the staff are wonderful too. Thank you for a lovely evening in your restaurant.

Nice bright modern restaurant. Service was ok as were the staff.
So poppadoms to start, not freshly done. Semi stale tbh. Nice chutneys though. Onion bhajis and Ragda patties with chickpeas were very nice.
Table cleared, was left with the now used cutlery.
Mains came approx 10 mins later. Why not fresh cutlery ? The dinner plates were cold. Have never been to a curry house that has done that..
The rice portions weren’t particularly hot, the dansak was ok, , the chilli nan was great and my vindaloo was horrid. Very citric and salty. My partner ate all the main, not the rice. I left most of mine. When the waiter came to clear the table he asked if I wanted to take my vindaloo home, I said no it was horrid and he just cleared the table without question.
Not once as per the norm were we asked if everything was ok. The bill was paid and we left. No thank you and goodbye.
Honestly this is the least attentive semi shambolic restaurant with poor quality food I have ever visited.
Never again. Honestly I wouldn’t bother. Go elsewhere.

The food and the service was impeccable absolutely fantastic and incredible. The 5 stars are true to its name. Definitely worth a visit. I’d like to see a karahi on the menu but what we had 4 of us was all fantastic!

We had a wonderful lunch for 4 here. The staff is very attentive and give very good recommendations. We had menu of the day, which included a sampler of appetizers, a curry with choice of protein, rice and naan. We had the Korma and Bhuna, both with chicken, and the flavors were delightful. We were also invited it chupitos de la casa, mango tequila which was very tasty to sip on after eating a 10/10 meal! The next time we are in Benidorm we’ll come for another great meal! Thank you

The free poppodums and pickle tray were a bonus, however, the poppadoms were slightly stale. Not as crisp as should be. Possibly cooked that afternoon and set aside for the evening. They had a slight soft chew rather than a snap. The onion chutney with fresh tomatoes was different to the onion chutney we have in the UK. Usually, raw diced onion, tomato ketchup and occasionally niger seeds. The mint raita was illuminous green (possibly just from a mass produced bottle) and then there was a red sauce that could have been a very mild and sweet chilli sauce. All lacked seasoning.

The starter of a special salad was supposed to be mixed leafs, onion and tomatoes with a slightly spiced chef dressing. This was brought with the main course biryani as I requested. Surprisingly it was a good size and had green olives, sweetcorn and queso. Disappointingly there was no spiced dressing, in fact the only dressing was the olive oil, vinegar and salt I added to it.

The main was a lamb biryani. A diversion from my usual vegetarian meal when I go to an Indian restaurant I have never been to before. This was the best part of the meal. Succulent and delicately spiced. Cloves, cardamom and cinnamon were all there with a hum of chilli and ginger. I ordered water only.

The atmosphere was good, due to a very large birthday party of around 30 people. If it had not been for them it would have been a very quiet setting.

Restaurant VERY clean and well organized.
Food was very flavourish compared to other indian places.
We ordered chicken better, chicken tikka misala, nan cheese garlic.. all of them were amazing. I didn’t like the butter bread, didnt have any flavour, just good nan.
Staff very polite.
Recommended 100% if you like indian food 🙂

Both myself and my son thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the restaurant is nicely decorated with an outdoor seating area also. The device was great and we spoke to the owner who was so lovely.
They have agreed to start cooking twice a month for the men and women who are supported by a homeless charity I volunteer with, which will help us immensely with our daily food runs. Our friends on the streets are in for s treat. Please go and show The Saffron Lounge your support as it’s so nice if them wanting to give back to those in need in the community.

The food here was absolutely outstanding. I had the hyderabadi curry. It was rich and earthy. Loads of ground cloves in there and my friend had the madras. Both were incredible. I will visit again next time im here. Even the red wine was perfect and a good pair to the curry and sometimes its very easy to get wine and curry wrong. Well done to the staff. Incredible
