Very nice environment! Loved the meat board, sorry to say I wasn’t impressed with my seafood boil… I felt it was a bit over priced for what was offered. I only had 6 shrimp and 5 sausage pieces for the meat. Also could have been a bit more seasoned ended up having to pay for my tea that was suppose to come with the seafood boil, but the liquor drinks were awesome. And the beer was as well. The skits we’re a definite added bonus it promoted interaction between the staff and customers. Pirate night was awesome. Ahoy matey!

Made my first visit today and was blown away by the friendly service, the great selection of beverages, and the menu. One of the few places in Liberty that can accommodate a customer, like me, who can’t have wheat or dairy. The atmosphere is very welcoming and both the staff and customers treated me like I was a regular. Definitely a place I will visit again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! My family and I frequent the tavern, you definitely never know what to expect with employees OR the food, in the most awesome way. Meat boards are a favorite, no two are the same. Always friendly faces and delicious food.

We went as a party of four to dine at this fine tavern. The hearty meal and excellent mead offer wayfarers much needed respite in their travels.
But jokes aside, the atmosphere here is excellent and really makes you feel as if you’re in a tavern in a fantasy world. We have been twice now as a table of four and both times ordered the large meat and cheese tray. The keyword here is “large”. This thing is huge! The meats and cheeses are all Boar’s Head, and there is a variety of produce (some or all of which is local), hummus, and other delicious additions.
I highly recommend this location for anyone who is into Dungeons & Dragons, Lord of the Rings, or any other medieval fantasy-themed fiction.
Finally, the duels are also very entertaining. Unfortunately, I am bound secrecy, so you will need to see one (or participate in one) yourself!

Great people, food, drinks & atmosphere. I went for the first time this afternoon and had a delicious (and very filling) veggie board and a bottle of mead. I plan on becoming a regular for all the above reasons 🙂

I loved this atmosphere!!! Came in to SC for the week and everyone was so friendly. The mead was flowing with good friends and good time. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re ever in town!

I went to The Rusty Nail Inn and Tavern for the first time today (24 August 21). All I can say is, wow! I wasn’t super hungry, so my wife and I didn’t try the meat board. However, I was not disappointed by the chicken, bacon, ranch pizza. It’s a perfect size, there was plenty of cheese and toppings. Everything was quite fresh. I know there will always be naysayers, but, I had no complaints! The staff does a fantastic job with the “theme” or “role” they are partaking in. Very friendly staff and a highly unique atmosphere. I will gladly make my way back in the very near future!

Had dinner there tonight. I am super excited about having a local tavern that serves home cooked food and a large variety of craft beer and mixed drinks. I rarely leave reviews for practically anything, but this place deserves it. Got the special, which was a HALF A CHICKEN, definitely home made Mac and cheese, and greens that honestly I wouldn’t typically eat but these were terrific. Well seasoned, very generous portions, and the price for dinner was very fair. Their beer selection is vast and there’s something for everyone. I’m happy to see Liberty finally getting a decent local spot where you can have dinner and a good drink. We made sure to visit the general store and game stores next door and they did not disappoint(we made sure we bought some stuff to support them, which was easy because it was stuff we really liked!). I hope this place stays because we definitely plan on coming back.

Have been to the this establishment numerous times since their opening. The owner, Susan aka Madam Malavent, is a wonderful hostess equipped with a sunny disposition, infectious laugh, and top notch staff. The daily specials I’ve tried have been unique and delicious while their signature drinks are both far too easy to consume and easy on the wallet.
Themed events and a playful, fantasy tinged atmosphere have turned this lovely tavern into a weekly stop for fun, food, and great company. I highly recommend it!

We had been wanting to try The Rusty Nail since it opened. We took the opportunity to try it when we visited its sister business next door, Stormrest Games.
The Rusty Nail is a medieval themed tavern. The menu is limited but the food is good. The music is period style and the employees dress in period style as well. Our server was super friendly and does a great job of making the customers feel welcome and appreciated. She made us want to return. We have heard the food boards are outstanding. I had a bottle of traditional mead with my meal. It was outstanding. The mead is made locally from SC honey. We want to return to try the dinner specials.
