Too many rules! They have a playground for kids but there are at least 5 signs to restrain your children. Very confusing. Bar tendera are grumpy.
I do like the outside vibe.

Favorite outdoor bar! Even though it’s by the hwy, it’s very quiet. The big oak trees are lovely and the food trailers are tasty (especially the burgers)! The owner is a dope dude, very nice guy. Always enjoy chatting with him when we stop in. I also love the mix of people that show up.

Atmosphere is great and we always enjoy visiting here. The food trucks are good and I really like the uniqueness of the whole place, also everyone I’ve met that works there is so friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely continue to keep this place in our bar rotation!

The Rusty Mule is a wonderful place to sit outside and enjoy hanging out with friends and family of all ages. Great bar with good drink prices, and wonderful food from trailers – sandwiches, pizza, tacos. I had steak fajitas that were great. Loved the band that played the night I was there – Peacemaker. Amazingly talented band from San Antonio, playing classic and modern rock, as well as some timeless classics from beyond the rock realm. It would be good to know what other bands are playing there. And especially, when is Peacemaker returning. Nice staff too! A super cool and welcome addition to the SW Austin nightlife!

Family friendly and fun! Great outdoors atmosphere – bring the bug spray. Good truck selection is sometimes good sometimes me but still worth the visit since you can drink and listen to live music while your kids play.

Big, outdoor venue with a vintage RV turned bar, food trucks and fire pits. Great group hangout when the weather is nice. There are plenty of draft and canned beers, and the cocktail menu is primarily Deep Eddy flavored vodka drinks.

We’ve been here several times after work. It’s incredibly pleasant, the beer selection is great, the variety of food is wonderful and the staff is outstanding. Nothing like sitting under the oaks with a beer, good friends and Lilli’s fries

My husband and I just love this place! Laid back, good food, the music has always been great (even the retro hits when the live music is on a break…)! Totally recommended for a family night out!

First and last time here. A friend’s band was playing a show, so we went to show our support. I was excited to go because it was a great evening to be outside and enjoy some music. When we arrived, there was only one bartender and the line was long. I heard someone order a mule of some sort and he told them he was out of vodka, but could fix a margarita. I was surprised since all of their special mules had vodka. Next up was a guy who ordered a redbull and the bartender refused to sell him one, stating he couldn’t serve a minor due to TABC regulations. A redbull! This place isn’t just a bar, it’s more of a music venue and there were quite a few families with small children. The person who was next in line bought the redbull and handed it to the guy. It was our turned next and we were told he could only take cash. Suddenly he call out someone with us, saying “You can roll your eyes all you want but it’s not going to make my credit card machine work. Only girls roll their eyes bro.” We were startled at his outburst and how aggressive he said it. When we asked for the manager, he said he was the manager and owner. We decided to leave and as we walked off. He was still grumbling at us.
It’s unfortunate that a business owner would treat their customers like that. I can understand how frustrating it can be being the only person working on a Saturday night, but that’s not a reason to lash out. Especially when the place was so empty, since it was just 7:30. We missed out on our friend’s set and were disappointed to say the least. I had hoped we would like this place since it was so close to work.
