We ordered and ate in the cozy house. I had the lobster bisque and the Big Pig with a apple pie oatmeal cookie for dessert. Excellent food. So glad they moved back to downtown Romeo. Usually when restaurants return, which is rare, they are not as good as the original ,but this is the exception. The food was fantastic. I’m definitely returning.

From the moment you walk in — or order for pickup — everything feels fresh, thoughtful, and downright tasty. I’ve honestly never had anything I didn’t love here. Their menu is full of creative sandwiches, hearty salads, soups, and bowls, all made with quality ingredients that taste like they were crafted just for you. 
And don’t even get me started on the bread — hands down the best in metro Detroit, perfectly baked and the ideal foundation for their stacked sandwiches. 
We recently had The Rustic Bluebird cater my birthday for 14 people, and it was a huge hit. The ordering process was quick and easy, the food was exceptional, and my whole family raved about every dish. It was flavorful, fresh, and generous — and all at very reasonable prices for the quality you get.
It’s also become one of my go-to gift ideas. If I’m ever looking to treat someone special, I often grab a gift card here — because sharing great food is always a good idea!
In my book, this place is more than just a cafe — it’s a community favorite with heart, soul, and incredible food. Highly recommended!

If you are in the mood for a delicious lunch with fresh ingredients and sandwiches as big as your head, stop by the Rustic Bluebird in downtown Romeo.
The food is amazing, I had the All In Bowl and a cup of Lobster Bisque with a Twisted Strawberry Lemonade with Strawberry Boba (and a cute little duck and inspirational decoration on my cup to make me smile). My wife had the half chicken salad sandwich on multigrain (still a giant sandwich) with the Lemon rice soup and a pomegranate boba drink.
The space is decorated with small town charm, you can dine in, sit on the porch, or take your food to go.

Ordered the beef and coleslaw sandwich (not sure the exact name) Was so good. Shared it with the kids and they all really liked. We got a slice of cake which everyone liked too 🙂 glad to have found this gem! Lots of fun gift ideas in the store too.

I had to stop in and see if the hype was real, it is! Spectacular sandwiches (at least the Ruben and the Club). The Ruben could be served at a NYC deli, it was that good and it was huge. Menu looks great and will be back to try some of the bowls and wraps. Friendly wait staff and cozy interior.

I recently had the privilege of assisting Bunny & June Events in coordinating Courtney’s (one of the owners) wedding, and of course it was catered by The Rustic Bluebird. I lost count of how many times I said the food was incredible. I was able to bring home a carryout container for my husband, and I actually contemplated not telling him and hiding it in the fridge for myself so that I could enjoy the food again not only was the food delicious, but the entire family was such a joy to work with. Everyone is so incredibly sweet and you can tell how much they all love doing what they do together. I will definitely be visiting the restaurant as soon as I can!

In a word: AWESOME! I had the Rustic Reuben and my wife ordered the Apple and Brie Grilled Cheese on Cranberry Walnut bread. They were both delicious. The couple next to us ordered a sandwich and a salad, they both looked great too. It was a very laid back dining room, nothing special, but nice and clean. They had great staff members at the counter and in the kitchen and had an interesting and pretty extensive menu. The bread was exceptional, we picked up a loaf of the Cranberry Walnut bread to take home. It’s going to make great toast for tomorrow’s breakfast, if I can make it through the night without eating it first. We’ll definitely be going back.
UPDATE: Nine months later still AWESOME!!! We thought about ordering something different this time. But nope we both wanted the same thing as our first visit. Once again it was outstanding! Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we had to eat in the car because the Governor said so. That’s alright, we had a nice lunch looking at the gazebo out back. It was decorated for Christmas. Nice date after the first real snowfall for the year.
Again, if you’re looking for a great sandwich, soup or salad, this place should be on your short list of places to eat. Great food, great people and even if you can’t eat inside for the time being, this is an outstanding place to grab a bite.

Beautiful! My boyfriend and I went here and it was wonderful. It’s so clean and really cute inside. I love the decor. The food was also great. I got the chicken caesar salad and it was one of the best I have ever had. Perfect little lunch spot. We will definitely be back.
