The staff was attentive and made sure we were accommodated. Joe was super personable and professional. The dining room had an excellent and welcoming vibe. The cappuccino’s was perfect. The food was incredible. And I must admit it’s a rare day to find properly cooked fried Okra. I can’t wait to come here again with company!

The food was amazing— it is not your typical fair, the ingredients speak. I have multiple allergies, most notably shellfish and they were so carful, the chef, Joe even came out to talk to me about it. Wonderful staff, fun date night. We will be back!

Not a fantastic experience.
The burger that I had was flavourless and not cooked to the desired done-ness for multiple people at our table, and multiple menu item options (catfish & sweet potato chips) were not available. Only salt was on the table, no pepper.
Service felt as though we were inconveniencing the staff with requests for ketchup, and billing/settling up was very slow at the end of the meal.
Atmosphere was rustic feeling and decent, although a bit drafty just due to time of year.
Compared to the closed down tavern that we had visited the year before with the best deep fried cheese curds, this was a much worse experience. Can’t speak to coffee or other meals (my friend really enjoyed his short rib), but wouldn’t personally recommend for dinner.

Great option for some southern food up North. Really enjoyed trying some diversity in regional food and meeting Joseph, the chef/owner, was great to hear a bit more about the locally-sourced food plans. Looking forward to mushrooms and other produce.

The clear river tavern was great! This place….. this place is a flop! Perfect for yuppie flatlands! Thanks for ruining yet another local vermont favorite.. the food is mediocre and over priced, drinks were pricey and no booze in them, and the pool table is gone! Not snowmobile friendly at all!! If you do go in ask for an espresso… the machine doesn’t even work hahahah

Chef / Lease Holder
Here it is a holiday weekend and not open on Sunday or today Monday. If your an outdoor person skiing, walking, snowmobiling or cross country your done as the sun sets so you need to be open at 3 or 330pm on for night. I came there three times and have not been back but we stopped by Sunday. Go sit look at your daily dollars before you came and compare to now. Answer is you messed up!! Fix it.
