We used The Russell to cater our wedding in early November. From our first outreach, Natasha was kind, engaging, and easy to work with. Our tasting was seamless and exceptional, and when we wanted to make a few adjustments that were off-menu, the team was quick to look into accommodating the requests. We loved that we were able to provide nearly an entire menu (absent our focaccia) that was gluten-free and largely dairy-free, and that they were able to do vegetarian and vegan-specific mains, addressing several dietary needs in our wedding party and guest list without any headache. The food was well-made and delicious; buffets can often be hit or miss, but The Russell’s food all came out hot, delicious, and well-presented. Our guests commented heavily on the beautiful way The Russell displayed the food and on the exceptionally kind and friendly service from their staff. Without a doubt, they made our special day that much more wonderful, and we would recommend them to anyone looking to provide delicious food at an important event. We love The Russell!

A fantastic and unique lunch spot in KC.
Stopped here on the way to the airport for a quick lunch and was really impressed. The atmosphere is warm and full of character, and the food was excellent.
The menu is strong, fairly priced and everything we tried tasted fresh and well prepared.
The employees were kind, welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better.
I’d definitely stop here again — a very good and unique spot for lunch if you’re in town.

The Russell was the perfect choice for our plated dinner our small wedding. The tasting blew us away, and everything went so smoothly on the wedding day. Dinner was delicious, the desserts were amazing, and they were so accommodating with special requests, like doing individual charcuterie cups served in teacups. Amante Domingo has added another large group of fans to the growing list. My kids and I hosted a Memorial service for my late wife Mary Kay here yesterday. Guests from across the country; he and his professional staff prepared and presented an impressive array of appetizers topped off with a memorable pastry selection.
The giant screen TV and HDMI hookup provided a beautiful background to scroll our digital photos.

I WAS REALLY WRONG. Very eclectically and well decorated with a very unique concept and menu.. this place was great.
The food was so light but complex. So many different flavors with every bite… It may be the best lunch I’ve had in KC (minus Gates, but that’s a totally different thing but also ironically next door)

The Russell is a cute restaurant with a comfort and welcoming feel. The food was fresh and delicious. The warm olives with grilled bread was a great way to start off our meal. My entree was the tasty green pear salad. The salad had green pears, blue cheese, dried cherries, candied walnuts and a bourbon pear vinaigrette. My friend had the same salad, but added grilled chicken. Their dessert choices are over the top. I highly recommend the fudge brownie with buttercream. I am a chocolate lover and a buttercream fan, so this was the perfect combination.

They are THE BEST caterers we could’ve hired! I hosted a 40 person rehearsal dinner at their restaurant, and my brother had them cater his wedding reception the next evening. We were both so impressed by the responsiveness, creativity, quality of the food, price point, and the service provided over many months of working with them.
Natasha, the catering coordinator, helped me create a Chinese-themed dinner menu largely from scratch when I couldn’t find a caterer who could do that. Everyone at the dinner and reception were delighted with the delicious food. Highlights included a perfectly executed fried rice, a creamy mushroom risotto, and the steak and chimichurri sliders.
The team even decorated the restaurant for us using our decor and family memorabilia. I was a bit skeptical about this because I had a particular vision, but they executed perfectly, probably better than I could’ve done myself. And they do beautiful displays that look like cascades of food on a harvest table.
Anyone planning a big event should seriously consider the Russell as caterer. The owner and event staff are kind and can-do people. They will work with you every step of the way, and come through for you in all the ways that matter.

One of my favorites! The space is dark, rustic, and moody but the wrap around windows warm it right up! I’m a sandwich girl, so I’ve tried and endorse them all. If I go salad I’d recommend the Steak & Greens. If I go entree, I’d recommend the Fish & Chips. But the hands down winner is always the Steak Chimi sandwich and their house lemonade. A great place to stop in for a solo lunch or meet up with friends to fill up a community table. The dining experience is counter ordered with a self serve station for drinks and amenities. Also be sure to make a pass at their dessert window to see what’s out for the day.
