Wow! Where do I start? This place is a true treasure. It’s modern, yet quaint. There’s a real feeling of a contemporary vibe, but it’s also cozy and homey. There are staple dishes on the menu, as well as some very daring and delicious dishes. I had the oxtail eggs benedict and, wow, was it tasty. The pomegranate mimosa was also tasty. I feel the price point is just right for the experience and quality you get. I also like their policy for reserving an igloo. Harry Potter lovers, you must see the bathrooms! Both of them.

I have not posted about any local or surrounding restaurants for quite some time. Mostly because there has simply been nothing extraordinary to review. The Rumpled Queen has certainly changed that!
Before you even park you get a feeling from the outside decor that something special may await you on the inside. Upon entry we were warmly greeted and gave our reservation information. I reserved through the Open Door App and asked for a romantic spot and that we were celebrating a birthday. We were seated across from the bar at a table for 2 with comfortable high back cane chairs. Very cozy and despite the bar beside us felt private. Our waitress was very friendly and was well versed in the menu. We had the Foccacia bread and the bacon wrapped dates for an appetizer. Both were not ordinary appetizers but rather works of art and culinary delight. Delicious may not describe either well enough. We enjoyed their pork and grits and scallops over rice as our main course and again the flavors and presentation were off the charts. The kind of meal you close your eyes with each bite and enjoy the unique flavors mastery crafted by the chef. Having no room for desert, but being so impressed by the food we just had to try the seasonal specials. Again, simply amazing! They even delivered my wifes desert with a sparkler for her birthday. After dinner coffee was served in a french press, and also was great. The quality, flavors, presentation, and atmosphere at the Rumpled Queens stand alone in our area. It is unique. Very unique! It was an experience, not just a meal. If you want to try something different, well thought out, masterfully cooked, baked, seasoned, and presented, then give the Rumpled Queen a shot. Be sure to make reservations!

Phenomenal experience from start to finish. The restaurant is stunning and the food is incredible. The fried chicken livers were beautiful-exquisitely fried and melt in your mouth. The steak tartare was rich, savory and the right amount of seasonings. The steak was cooked perfectly. The burger…everything you could want and more, so much flavor! It’s hard to find a meal this wonderful anywhere. Service was great-Ava was attentive, knowledgeable and sweet. 10/10, highly recommended!

What a gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere and decor is amazing. The 9 oz filet was one of the best I have ever had. The unique drink menu was such a great, positive surprise. Really enjoyed our dinners here and I think you will also.

We adored our first dinner at the Rumpled Queen! We absolutely love that they offer sparkling water in lieu of filtered water upon arrival. The wine menu has a great selection of white and red options. We were thrilled they offered a nebbiolo from piedmont, Italy! The steak tartar was amazing, and so were those Korean wings. My smoked whitefish Caesar was delicious. My hubby, a total meat-lover, thought the steak frites were huge and perfectly cooked. We all loved the lemon meringue cheescake dessert. The menu’s so unique and eclectic – it’s unlike anything else around here, exactly what we needed! This place is classy, cozy, and elegant. We’re thrilled to finally have something this great nearby!

Truly something special. The decor and atmosphere itself is amazing. You can tell a lot of time, money, thought, heart, attention to detail and intention went into this place. The food was all amazing. The Korean wings were my personal favorite. I loved the gnocchi but personally I would like a bit more of a sauce, but the gnocchi alone was incredible. Tried some of the burger, easily the best burger I’ve ever had. The menu items aren’t intimidating like some higher end establishments. Simple, good food with a twist. Service was great. They even give you a wet towel for the wings. Everything about this place screams quality, no corners cut. Crazy to find something like this in a small Ohio town.

First time at the Queen but definitely not the last! Sat on the beautifully done patio with the flowing waters, flowering plants, fire and the BEST music (Etta James!) at the PERFECT volume (I’m big on having great music while eating:) But the REAL stars are the food and the staff. The staff gives high end service but at the same time makes you feel like you’ve just been included in a group of close friends. Finally, the food. The bacon wrapped dates were awesome and we kept the remaining sauce until we finished every last drop! I saw the pot pie at another table and was jealous but the steak frites with broccolini was amazing. Fries were perfectly crisp and the alioli dip was out of this world! The steak melted in my mouth. Just when I thought I could do no more, we had the lemon meringue cheesecake. So light and a crisp lemon taste! I can’t believe people scoff at the portions! I took half of it home (will not waste a bite) and still have a meal for two. The prices may seem high but you are eating food you would find in a high end metropolitan restaurant served by people with skills on par with fancy urban places yet being made to feel like you are special at a fraction of that cost. The inside is a gem that I look forward to enjoying when the weather turns. And the swan faucet in the bathroom was the perfect added touch. (Who takes a picture of a bathroom in a restaurant???) My only regret is that I live an hour away. More than a great meal, an experience.

Had a fantastic birthday get together for a friend. The waitress (I believe her name was Sophie) was sweet, attentive, and lovely. Food was great, drinks were great and the atmosphere matched that of a upscale downtown restaurant I’d expect to see in Denver but conveniently right here in Salem.
Thanks for the lovely evening
