Lovely place inside and out. The Valentine’s dinner was absolutely phenomenal. The food was so flavorful. Service was good. Well worth the price. I’ll be back

I had tea in the garden. The property is beautiful. The chuch bells rang, the flowers were blooming, and the service was good. It was a wonderful afternoon visit. The food was tasty. Compared to other teas I have had the menu was unique. The roasted chicken was good. I wish the scones were hot. The server did a wonderful job managing all of the tables alone.

Our return visit after many years for afternoon tea showed a high level of service, food quality and truly unique atmosphere. Beautiful dining and patio areas. Efficient and knowledgeable server. Russian tea glass holders, podstakanniki, are used and are unique and detailed.

There are many historical items around the dining room including a wax cylinder phonograph, many antique samovars and a gem of an unfinished portrait of I think Czar Nicholas II in the side room off the main dining room.

A walk of the gardens and visit to the chapel are a must. Many have said it, but this is truly such a jewel in the unassuming neighborhood.

I am beyond delighted with the delicious and beautiful vegan food at a Christmas tea at Royal Eagle which is on the grounds of St. Sabbas Orthodox Monastary. The napkins, which I loved, were folded by the monks. There is a requirement for modest dress as it is a monastary.

The food was very good, and it was unique dining experience. I went for the tea luncheon and didn’t realize they preferred reservations. But the staff were very nice and found a table for me and my friend.

I wish there were 6 stars! This place is fabulous! The atmosphere is pre-Revolutionary Russia, the hospitality is unexcelled, the menu is extraordinary: beef stroganoff, chicken kiev, duck confit, hassenpfeffer, salmon entrees….and the dessert…do not leave until you have the Russian Napolean. And the restaurant is set on the grounds of a gorgeous Russian Orthodox Monastery. Serene, peaceful, wonderful place to have a superior gourmet meal.

I can’t describe the serenity of the gardens. It must be experienced. No matter your beliefs, you will feel the spirituality of this place.

The food is phenomenal! I have Celiac’s and the chef made me a special plate in place of the sandwiches and a dessert like I have never experienced in my life.
