Do you know when you go to a place that you’ve been to before and you expect the same things, it’s not happening here. Instead of getting a Sunday brunch with with a packed restaurant, they didn’t even have breakfast foods. I don’t think they even open until after breakfast. Is hardly anybody there when I went. You have to order your food from the counter. I don’t know why they had to turn a famous diner into a fast food place.

This was our first time at the Royal Diner and the staff was great! We had a decent meal and it came out of the kitchen at lightening speed. The sweet potato fries could use a little more seasoning.
But, we were disappointed by the menu selection. It felt small for a diner and it was missing a diner classic in my opinion — the Reuben.

My husband and I were passing through with our 6 kids & I am SO happy we decided to stop here. The food was delicious, one of the best spicy chicken sandwiches I’ve had. The owner & staff treated us like family, and were so kind to my kids! 10/10 I high recommend & will stop here everytime we are in the area!

We had the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and squash, and the pork shoulder dinner. Both were delicious. Dessert of apple puff pastry with vanilla ice cream was scrumptious. So glad the Royal Diner is open again.

The food was absolutely horrible, ordered take out and waited there for our food. Immediately ate the burger I had ordered and it was already cold, the bun was soggy and smushed into a triangle? then wrapped in foil and put into a box with completely uncooked fries. The chopped steak was actually just a unseasoned burger patty, which somehow they managed to cook so poorly it didn’t even taste like hamburger anymore. There was not even salt and pepper on any of the sides ordered and they were only par cooked. This place used to be amazing and now has taken a serious turn for the absolutely disgusting worst. People at the counter were rude at best, and that’s even being generous… Don’t waste your time or money

Not your average diner. Amazing rice bowls; the Rooster and Hogback. Perfect portion and the flavor was WOW. The veggies were fresh and crips. Myself and my mother enjoyed the visit and meal. Friendly service and a relaxed historic atmosphere. Must read about the diner by checking out the original news clippings on the wall.

On our way to the Green Mountains Forest, we dropped by this place for a quick breakfast. They seemed to be quite popular among the locals, but we were able to grab a table at the old railroad car section without a wait. Our server was very friendly, and when we asked for something else besides the rye bread for our sides, she made some great accommodations for us. Among the menus we ordered, we really enjoyed the cajun skillet breakfast and the vermonter omelette. Char-grilled steak was the only thing that we found to be mediocre.
Overall, it was definitely worth the few mile detour we took, and if you’re looking for a good local diner in the area, this is undoubtedly the one to go to.

Awesome place to stop if you’re traveling in the area. The restaurant when we visited, was counter service, but they bring the food to you. I thought this was a very efficient system. We had a nice lunch, including a fried scallop platter, sandwich, and salad. Meals were delicious and reasonably priced. This place is an awesome experience all around, especially if you have a dog.

Then, we went around back, to the little dog park that they have let our dog run around.
