This hip all-day eatery offers Latin snacks, wood-fire-grilled dishes & shaved-ice cocktails.

A solid spot for a chill catch-up with friends. I tried the chicken burger and fries, and both were really good. The arepas were fresh and flavorful too, definitely worth trying.
Service was good and the staff was polite and helpful. The drinks were also nice and paired well with the food. Overall, it’s a relaxed place with good vibes and tasty food. Would go back for sure.

If your curious about this spot be curious no longer. Come and eat! My meal was perfect! My husband also ordered a danish and that was sooooo good too. We will definitely be back!

Cute spot on DC, but dear lord the parking situation is awful! 8 min walk to the nearest parking garage. The staff was very kind when we arrived, but I really hate this QR code to order & pay situation. Our food was delightful and would love to come back and try the cocktails one evening.

I usually come to The Royal for the food but the other day, I just popped in for a drink and they still showed out. Sat at the bar with this pretty little layered matcha and it tasted just as good as it looked. Chill vibe, good service, easy place to lose track of time. Royal never misses, even when I’m only here for a quick sip.

You order entirely on your phone the wait staff only bring you the food. We first ordered drinks we did not like (salted vanilla cold brew) and the staff was very accommodating making us different drinks. Went here on a Monday for lunch was very quiet and service was fast. Portions are smaller than the usual American size. Definitely an appetizer and entree place. Overall food was delicious loved the steak meat. Great as a gluten free person.

A Latin American fusion spot with a wide range of brunch food and drink options, including creative coffee drinks like the Arequipa latte and dishes such as arepa rancheros. While the menu was intriguing, the food itself was underwhelming and overall it felt mediocre, especially for $70+ for two people. On the plus side, the space is inviting, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Walked in on a Friday around 6:30pm. No reservation and we’re able to be sat right away.
Had the mocktail, the gnocchi, chicken sandwich, pork belly, beef arepa and mussels. Everything was so delicious!
Gnocchi, pork belly and mussels are must get!

The Royal is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves exquisite cuisine with Latin American roots. I highly recommend their cocktails—they’re amazing! They also have great shareable dishes, so you can try a variety of flavors. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is really friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

We came to The Royal to try their special Girl Scout coffee menu! Till 3/12/25 they’re serving special Girl Scout cookie themed drinks and selling boxes as well. I got the iced thin mint latte and loved it! I also tried the coconut delight latte which resembled a Samoa. I tasted the caramel but didn’t taste much of the toasted coconut. The other drink I tried was a lavender matcha which wasn’t part of the specialty drinks, but was still delicious and probably one of the best matcha’s I’ve tried! We came in and sat at the bar initially, but moved to a table once one became available. Everyone was super friendly, and I noticed people working on their laptops as well so this could be a nice working space. Overall we had a great time and hope to come back and try their food as well!
