So a random old man saw me and recommended The Roti Maharani. Naturally, I had to check it out. Parking was easy and the place is nice and clean with ample seating. I ordered a Doubles to test out the taste and it was delicious! Plus the bara was just right (thin but still holding the chana). Of course, I ordered more food to take home! The curry goat dhalpourie was excellent. The owner, Sasha, is super friendly and cooks all the Trini food! Her curry mango is amazing! It’s an hour drive for me but totally worth it when I want good Trini food. I’ll be sending my family & friends too!

I came in with my father and sister before this dreaded snowstorm and was greeted with a smile by the owner. She is so nice and we had great conversations with her. We had doubles first while we figured out what foods we wanted to take home. The doubles was tasty, with pretty presentation. I, personally, ordered pholourie, stew chicken and corn soup to go. THE CORN SOUP CHANGED MY LIFE. It was super tasty and I was so happy that I pulled the trigger and ordered it. The pholourie itself is yummy and the tamarind goes well with it. The stew chicken, pumpkin, channa and aloo hit the spot. I was craving stew chicken for a while now so I’m glad I ordered it today. I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu. The owner also offered a taste of the curry duck and that’s what I’m getting next time. The sauce was so tasty and tasted like home. Thank you again for everything.
Also, the place is huge, very clean and organized. There is a nice space in the back for events also if anyone is interested in renting for a party.

Love this place so much! Being West Indian in this area there isn’t a lot of Caribbean food. This place is very welcoming and the owner Sacha remembers her customers and small details about what you like and about your personal details you share with her… being from Brooklyn this restaurant is one of the best I’ve had.

I had a great experience from the moment we walked in, the owner was so sweet, welcoming, and conversational. The space is very clean and cute, with a warm vibe, soca music playing, Caribbean flags, and beautiful large images of Trinidad on the walls gave it real island energy.
We ordered a full spread and everything was delicious. The doubles were soft and flavorful. The curry chicken with buss up shut (paratha roti) was AMAZING, and the sides of pumpkin and aloo were so comforting and the pumpkin especially was cooked down to perfection, sweet and savory at the same time. The pholourie was made fresh to order, light, fluffy, and full of flavor, perfect with tamarind chutney. We also tried the jerk chicken with rice and peas, which had that nice smoky kick and paired so well with the rice and peas which help balance the heat of the jerk. This spot is a gem! If you’re craving real Trini food in Jersey, this is the place to be!

I found this gem last night! I’ve been feeling for Trinidadian curry for some time and this restaurant didn’t disappoint at all. The young lady who served me was so pleasant, approachable and sweet! I ordered a goat wrap roti. Because they were low on goat (I was there around 9pm), she graciously added another meat (after offering it) to make the portion full. I highly recommend this place.

Just left and the food instantly took me back to my childhood. The service was amazing, and everything tasted just like home. The sorrel tasted homemade, my dhalpuri was cooked to perfection, and the curry mango, pumpkin, aloo, and cabbage were all spot on. The aloo pie with channa was top tier. I’d recommend this place every time. I don’t eat meat, but even the couple next to me couldn’t stop talking about how good the pelau was. 100/10

I live in an area where there are not great options for Caribbean food. My friend and I took a drive here from Jersey City and WOW. So delicious. I’ve been longing to eat some good doubles. I got two plain doubles with everything and two with goat. SO AMAZING. We also got the duck platter with pumpkin and roti on the side to dip (don’t remember the name) and that was amazing as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and took our order last minute before they closed (we called at 7:30ish, got there at 7:50pm) Such sweethearts! The interior is huge and clean, beautifully painted with bright colors, decorated with Caribbean flags all around; a very welcoming atmosphere ❤️ Thank you for your service and amazing food! If you’re reading this, JUST GO!! You won’t regret it. Don’t miss out on a good meal.

The food here is potentially life changing in the best way possible. The chicken curry and jerk chicken were both so rich and bursting with flavor plus the the spice on top. The roti is incredible, so soft and delicious and perfect to soak up every flavor. The pumpkin was perfectly cooked. The space is bright and clean! Even though I live in Manhattan, I can’t wait to come back

I loved the doubles! The owner met with me and she was a pure delight. Straight off the island and into the kitchen. The flavors were everything Carribean. Having been to maracas during my last trip to Trinidad and walking into the restaurant and seeing backdrop of the beach, made my experience even more pleasant. 10stars if possible. Never been to a place serving Spanish food and Trini food! Awesome
