Wonderful place! Food was amazing. The staff were so friendly & accomodating – making a particular cocktail for us, letting me bring a homemade birthday cake for a friend in early & bringing it out for us with the sparklers lit. Birthday girl is a vegetarian & she LOVED the veggie options. She really enjoyed the vegan cottage pie. The sea bass was perfectly cooked & the dish looked & tasted stunning and my mac’n’cheese with seafood & chorizo was SO delicious. It was so rich I couldn’t eat it all but they kindly boxed it up for me. Highly recommend this wonderful place

Voted best in Brightlingsea on trip advisor but didn’t live up to expectations
Expensive for what was served the Thai fish cakes was more like fishcakes, the Whitebait was clean but a smallish portion
the missus and her mum shared Oysters and a sharing platter
looked decent enough but a lot of breaded fish on the dish and quite expensive at £55
Desserts seemed the best value for money but then the waffle the better half was solid and not pleasant so the missus says
though the father in law enjoyed he’s Ice cream and bananas
Overall not great wish we had taken the mother in law for her mothers day trip to Mersea far better fish resturants there

We decided to try it for Sunday lunch, we each chose different meals and thoroughly enjoyed them. Food was tasty, very good portion sizes. The service was excellent. Plus the view from the conservatory was worth paying for on it’s own.

On holiday at the haven park and promised my gf a nice trip out and a nice seafood lunch.
Found this lovely place online and visited today (23/7/25) for lunch.
Ordered the shared seafood platter for 2 and it was absolutely brilliant and well worth paying the extra £2 for truffle and Parmesan fries to go with it.
It was also really lovely to hear a number of the other customers in the pub saying that they visit this area on holiday every year and always come to this pub for lunch while they’re on holiday.
The owner of the pub greeted us when we arrived and was really welcoming and had a great sense of humour, and the lady behind the bar was lovely as well and didn’t seem overly flustered even though it was her dirwt shift.
Nice traditional feel to the pub and lovely views from the pub garden over the harbour.
I would happily reckoned this establishment as well as the amazing fresh seafood.

A gr8 dog friendly pub on my doorstep with excellent food if you love seafood or a good roast. Table of 8 for Sunday lunch plus dog and very well looked after by all staff who were friendly, polite and made you feel that nothing was too much trouble. Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting but book ahead as very busy. Fantastic views from beer garden as well.

Lovely cosy restaurant, we were seated in the conservatory – only negative was that the lovely waitress started clearing the cushions out of the garden are while we were sitting and it made it very cold and windy for a few minutes. Food was really nice – portion sizes were good and reasonably priced, and all very fresh and hot. Forgotten things were quickly rectified. The white choc bread and butter pud was SO good.
Special mention to the waitress who was on her trial shift, she did a great job and was very friendly and sweet.

It’s a quaint little pub with beautiful views from the garden and the indoor vineyard they have out the back and open fires!. Really pleasent and welcoming staff. I want to come back when it’s snowing (if it ever does again in the south east UK) and next summer. Although we didnt have any food a couple were eating and it looked and smelt lovely, that alone means I’ll be back to try some of their food out.
