We’ve been delivering our farm raised produce for years to The Root Cafe, This is the first time the three of us had an opportunity to sit down and enjoy a meal together while on a delivery.

Hamburgers were amazing, we felt good about what we were eating because we knew where the ingredients came from and they didn’t use seed oil for the fries! The fries were amazing & the sweet potato fries for the win! Hibiscus tea was a bonus. Servers were friendly. Thank You Root Cafe for supporting Local Family Farms.

First time at the new location. It was great! More room and more varied areas for dining. Service was great, as with the OG location. I had the purple hull pea stew and cornbread. Just as good as previous times. So glad they have another location now and that it’s also awesome!

I loved their first location, so I knew I would love their second. This was my first time at their Breckenridge location, and while I missed the homestyle diner decor of the first, I really liked the more “modern” look of this restaurant while also feeling as though you’re not in an upscale restaurant, you’re still in a home. Not to mention that they have a FULL bar now. My boyfriend got the Beer Chili Hash and a Bloody Mary while I got the Omlette with a side of breakfast potatoes and bacon. I always love the bacon at the Root since it’s locally sourced, which means you’re going to get THICK pieces of bacon. I also love that they pair their reallll cheesy omlette with an arugula salad. Not only do I love arugula, but it also helps balance out the cheesiness of the omlette with every other bite. I will say though, I was really jealous of my boyfriend’s Beer Chili Hash. It was such a savory breakfast, and the chili itself was wonderful. Glad they’re keeping up the same standards here in Breckenridge as they were in SOMA!

Long time patron of the location in SOMA, I wanted to try the new location. And was I just as pleased as could be! Just like the original THE ROOT CAFE, this spot offers a large selection of wonderful dishes cooks with fresh ingredients and care. The restaurant is just as friendly and inviting, patrons just as warm and happy, staff vibrant and welcoming, AND it feel a lot more open. Even the outside dining area!

The menu here is the same, but the staff pointed to an area above the counter offering specials. I skipped my usual order to try THE TRADITIONAL BENNY. Along with a freshly baked jalapeño and cheese biscuit. Along with a coffee of course. The food arrived quickly and warm. Breaking the poached egg lent to a perfect cascade of yummy yolk to cover the ham and English muffin. And just the right sized dollop of hollandaise gave it that zip anyone would be a fan of. My biscuit was a nice treat to nibble on as I chatted with my friend across the table. Toasted and crunchy on the outside and warmly softened inside with a taste of cheese and subtle spice inside. These folks know how to balance ingredients and giving each flavor some stage time on the pallette. Everyone’s a star at this show, no one out shines.

Located in a great spot off of 430 it’s definitely a place to go regularly, show off to friends that may be visiting, or recommend for a meeting place for refreshment before or after a local adventure!

I had such a nice experience today at The Root. I needed a quick pick me up before meeting my brother for a full blown lunch a couple hours later. I walked in and sat at the bar where I was waited on by the extremely kind Kimberly. We spoke for a few minutes as she brought me my two perfectly cooked farm fresh eggs, and she was as hospitable of a bartender as I have spoken with in a while. I am very glad to have such a great option in Breckenridge Village. Also – Jack and his bride are top notch folks!

This is THE location for delicious, fresh, local food paired with an inviting atmosphere! The space is clean and bright with plenty of seating, and the staff is helpful and courteous. The menu is full of options that cater to vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores alike! Included are photos of the seasonal house salad (10/10 recommend), the Chapman’s Cousin burger (also fantastic) and the half and half fries. Easily the best sweet potato fries around! The menu items are reasonably priced and once you go, you’ll surely be back!

Such a large dining area, you order and seat yourself with a number. My husband ordered a brat, I got the side salad and then they had the perfect split of sweet potato vs normal potato fries. I always love sweet potato fries and my husband prefers normal so this was honestly perfect that we could enjoy both! I really liked the dippin sauces and the salad hit the spot for some veggies I was craving. I also had the hibiscus iced tea which was refreshing without being overly sugary. Loved the atmosphere of supporting local farms, you could definitely taste the difference in the quality of food!
