We are dedicated to sourcing ingredients that are local and organic. We get produce from local farms when in season. Some of our veggies even come from community gardens and farms in Lakewood. Look for dishes using in season heirloom vegetables. Our vegan and vegetarian baked goods are made with love, in small batches, using whole wheat flour and organic and local ingredients when available. We can make custom bakery orders for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other specialties when given prior notice.

Very plants, much coffee and delicious food. The root cafe is a nice place with decent staff, we had the eggs and a hummus plate which both were filling and delicious. They are more pricey than the next Starbucks but also have that extra bit of atmosphere and charm.

I’ve came to this location several times and loved it. Came today and got my usual. Waited about 30 mins. The jam was apple sauce with like a spoon of cinnamon. I’ve always gotten a jam that was like a darker purple. Not today. I didn’t get to eat my bread or “jam” the eggs were so dried so I went to grab salt and there is condensation and worm looking things in the salt. Now I don’t get to eat my eggs either. They didn’t have the fries they usually have so I had to get sweet potatoes that I don’t like. Overall I had two bites of my food and couldn’t eat it. There Ice mocha is chocolate milk as well lol

So much to get into at this coffee shop. They sell different items like pop up items. They also have a community fridge to feed people in need.

Probably one of my favorite cafés in Lakewood. The atmosphere is ideal, the teas and coffees are perfect, and the food is delicious with generous portions. I also appreciate the self-clearing plate composting for the leftovers. It’s worth the wait that people have complained about.

A little pricy – especially if you’re vegan. Never understood why that is.

Today my wife and I went back to this restaurant. A very unpleasant and unprofessional waiter yelled at us because we wanted to put our bicycles inside. When I said to him that the owner told us we can have the bicycles inside, he replied saying that the owner wasn’t there and we needed to get a chain to lock them outside. Everything was very unpleasant. We won’t go back to this restaurant…

The cafe is really cute and cozy on the inside with great coffee and many food choices. The food was good, but slow to come out (a little over 30 minutes for two egg sandwiches).

I love the Root Cafe, I’ve been going here for years! Not only is the atmosphere super relaxed and welcoming, the food is delicious! As a vegetarian, being able to choose from a whole menu of options is rare.

Terrible food experience. Took 35 minutes to make 10 eggs. Came out cold and way too salty. Not worth the price. Coffee was good.
