When I tell you we got our food before we barely took a few sips of our starter drinks… Wow! The Roost was comfortable and welcoming. All staff made an effort to ensure we had everything we needed. It was clearly a team effort, and they all seemed to genuinely enjoy each other’s company with friendly banter. Our waitress was so personable and we laughed several times together. And don’t let my mention of how fast the food arrived scare you – it was cooked well, and it was delicious! They even added a bit of cinnamon to my buttered toast – an addition I didn’t know I needed but now I never want to be without. Highly recommend this place!!

Great service! I’m on a Carnivore diet and they were able to accomodate me with ease. Very friendly “hometown” feel! Menu is pretty neat with several options. They also have homemade salsa’s and good hot sauce choices if you like the kick.

We popped by for lunch after spending time swimming at Purtis Creek State Park. Rooster fries were underwhelming since we were expecting them to be smothered in cheddar (per the menu). Wasn’t expecting such a sweet gravy on the mashed potatoes. Otherwise, service was quick and kind, and the salad, catfish, hushpuppies, and Philly steak sandwich were great!

We really enjoyed the “Momma hen” breakfast. The pancakes are amazing!! They aren’t like pancakes you get anywhere else. Just fluffy clouds of delish! Gravy and biscuits also very good. The atmosphere is as a small town should be. Local gentlemen and law enforcement conversation and laughter. We had a blast!

Neat place, good service.

The food looks great presentation wise; however it’s very bland.

I would highly suggest the owner/chef consider adding just a little salt to the gravy, and breading used for chicken fried steak.

Everything was so close to being good, but just fell short.

We had the bulldog, and a cfs lunch.

The cream gravy was brownish, and just completely bland. The breading on the cfs was also just missing flavor.

Also the bulldog just had very little gravy at all. Seems to be a strange thing to do for what essentially dressed up biscuits and gravy.

Anyway, maybe it was an off day. If I were to go back I may try a burger instead.

If I could give zero stars for the quality of the food especially for the price I would!! My husband purchased 2 pies for our new years church get together and first of all they were $25 each, which had they been good would have been worth it but they were not eatable!!!! The coconut pie wasn’t even firm so it was pudding consistency and tasted horrible, like not not flavored like coconut but more like flour. The apple was way over done and also tasted awful, same as the other. I have had decent food from the roost, breakfast wise, but I absolutely do NOT recommend the pies!!!! $50 bucks went in the trash including the one slice from each one that was tasted!

First visit i had was wonderful. Excellent service and food. This time was terrible. Terrible service. She forgot our drink order. Had to come back and ask us again what we wanted. Our food was delivered cold by someone else. The waitress never came back. I would have liked my food heated up but she never came back to check. No refills. Nothing. I had to wave down someone else to go get our check. She only had one other table so there was no excuse. I saw her in the back talking or did not see her at all most of the time. Next time we go I’m going to make sure we get the server we had the first time.

I have not been to the Roost for awhile and since then they have done some remodeling and updated their menu. I had Migas served with Black Beans, really really good. Not a fan of the coffee which seemed a bit if Chickory not a big fan of that, but drank it nonetheless. All in all experience was really good and I will be back. Service was good, didn’t take long to get food
