I love food halls, and The Roost is one of the best! We were able to order from several different stalls and have everything delivered right to our table — such a fun and seamless experience. The variety was fantastic, and every dish we tried was delicious. Everyone in our group left completely satisfied. Can’t wait to come back!

The Roost is one of my favorite places in DC for a laid-back meal and good conversation. The space is bright, open, and lively without being too loud — perfect for catching up with friends or settling in for a casual date.

There are lots of food options to choose from, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. Best of all, prices are very reasonable for DC, so you can sample different vendors without feeling like you’re splurging. Drinks are great too, and there’s plenty of seating.

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or planning to hang out for a while, The Roost delivers consistently good food, friendly vibes, and great value. Highly recommend!

I was in the mood for a variety of food and decided to go to this Food Hall that I’ve been wanting to try. It’s a nice cozy setup with various seating situations. I decided to go to the Shelter which is a brewery and had plenty of sports programs on their TVs.
I first tried a House Margarita. It was excellent. I’d get that again.
I made a few food selections from the Specials menu
1 – Chicken Tacos – Excellent – worth coming back
2 – Rotisserie Fried Chicken – OK. Not bad.
3 – Wings – respectable. Pretty good

The last thing was the beer selection which was the STAR. Bartender was very knowledgeable about their beer. :). I’m not a connoisseur, however, I enjoy a good beer from time to time. This one was worth coming back for. CREATURE COMFORTSBONE CHURCH was the name of the Beer.

The Roost is a fantastic food hall with a little something for everyone—coffee lovers, sushi fans, taco seekers, and more. I grabbed the pizza and poutine fries, and both were absolutely delicious. The space is modern and inviting, making it a great spot to hang out, grab a bite, or meet up with friends. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area and want variety without sacrificing quality!

Have you ever had a whoa.. I didn’t see this coming experience? So dig it…picture a busy intersection In the heart of a community (Capitol Hill). On the corner sits something with a title that makes you think of a bird (The Roost). But, inside is a straight up hybrid. A Perfecta combination of java cafe, sports bar, meets food court with digital ordering capability. That said, you should not only go to take a look around… but, you have to go for the food and the drinks. I had the most delicious brussel sprouts and a cognac that made my appreciation for “grandma” smile. The service was welcoming even under the presence of large gatherings. It can accommodate any attire that makes you feel comfortable. Parking/access could be complicated depending on the time of day. Where did I eat? Here is a fun hybrid riddle…what is an apron with a cover?

Ordered by calling the Roost, was told 30 min. Arrived within 30 min. needed to wait for another 30 min. Needed to park 2 blocks away, when ordering was told no delivery too busy. Picked up food walked 2 block drive home to find the sushi we ordered was salmon rather than tuna. Threw in the trash, tried to call to speak to a manger a number of times, never came to the phone.
Beware!! Usually very good, but too little help and many customers is not a good recipe for continued success!

Seriously good nachos good vibes, but gets crowded very fast. We sat inside until a table opened up outside. Really nice, definitely recommend. My friend got sushi and she gets it often from there and still likes it.

Great time at The Roost. Love the concept. You find a table and order from any of the food/drink/dessert available from your phone.

We tried pizza, sushi, draft beers and caramel custard pie. We then ended with a mocha latte. Yum and yum. What’s really nice is you can try a little of everything.

Service was fantastic, everyone was so nice and we never felt rushed. We were able to really relax and enjoy our food.

We sat in a booth on the bar side (The Shelter) which was less bright with warm comfortable light. This was perfect for me as I easily get migraines from bright white lights.

Overall a great relaxing time. Cant wait to go back and try the taco salad I saw go by that looked awesome!

The Roost is such a fun and inviting spot. I love how many great food and drink options there are in one place—it makes it easy to try something new every time. The atmosphere is relaxed and lively, and the space feels bright and welcoming. The staff at each counter was friendly and helpful, which made the visit even better. It’s a great place to meet friends, grab a bite, and hang out. I’d definitely come back.

I stopped by The Roost for the first time to see what the atmosphere was like. I love the concept its an open space with ample seating and diversed food and beverage options all under one Roost . . And roof lol. It’s almost like a family friendly cafeteria with exceptional food, appetizer, cocktails and desert options. They also have incubators if needed for meetings. (Potentially upon reservation). I will definately be returning
