I got the Chicken Curry (comes with potato curry and rice) when they were the “Heritage Kitchen” food truck at Quinnipiac University (September 24th, 2025) and It’s some of the best food I’ve ever had! The chicken really does fall off the bone, the curry was so flavorful, spicy, and delicious, and the portion size was incredible – perfect for before my night class.
I really wish y’all could set up shop somewhere in southern New Haven County, I’d love to get some of that amazing chicken curry again!!

In South Florida, there were a handful of Guyanese restaurants and most were good. I was at the Taste of the Caribbean and Jerk Festival located in Mortenson Riverwalk Plaza. There were a bunch of food trucks and vendors. I saw this food truck and was super excited because I love Guyanese cuisine. Also, I’ve never seen a Guyanese food truck before.
I ordered the beef curry over white rice; halal boneless cubed beef in curry with mixed spices with onion and garlic. I wanted to like it but it was very underwhelming and flavorless. I’m used to the robust flavor burst of curry so this was disappointing. Maybe I’ll try another menu item and report back, if I come across them again.

For anyone considering eating here, I just want to say Google is free and do research about Guyanese food before leaving a review. Because this food was authentic, delicious, and plentiful–any real Guyanese knows it.
We ordered goat curry, veggie plate (spinach, channa, double okra instead of potatoes), roti, beef bowl, and chowmein with jerk chicken. The goat curry was perfectly cooked. It had a beautiful blend of spices and soaked wonderfully in the roti. The meat was halal and fresh, and it was coming right off the bones as it should be. The salad that came with the chowmein had a delicious homemade dressing, and the jerk chicken was nice and spicy.
We had the food with pepper sauce on the side so we can control the spice, but you have to ask for the pepper. The roti?? Ooh I got emotional eating that roti it was so good. Light and flaky, but not too much. Held the food and sopped up all the flavor. Had an extra piece with tea later in the night.

My mom (vegan) and I (vegetarian) tried the veggie platter today from The Rolling Roti’s food truck while they were in town and it was absolutely delicious! So filling and so tasty! I felt like $20 each was well worth all the amazing food we got! Can’t wait to try out some other menu items sometime!

Wow, I was really impressed with the goat roti and stewed spinach! The maracuyá juice was solid too. A tad pricey, but worth it!

Bought some dhalpouri roti skins to take back with me. When I got home and opened one of them it was just paratha and not dhalpouri. Left them a message and of course they won’t respond. I guess for $60 you will ruin your reputation.

Nice Halal Guyanese food truck and the food is prepared by a Guyanese couple. Authentic food prepared right on the spot. Follow them on IG (therollingroti) to know where they are park/sometimes they move abt bcz of events etc but they usually park by (Wadsworth Museum Hartford). Just drive around the museum and you will find them. The top food is the jerk chicken chowmein in our opinion. Amazing sour sop drink too. Oh yea, try the eggball and poulourie too. Will try again.

I went to the truck and asked a few questions about the rolling roti. I received nothing but crystal clear answers. You won’t regret the mission this establishment has in the Hartford community and also the quality the food comes in.
*Please keep in mind the location of the truck, days of the week it’s open, and the specials on the menu do change*

Was looking forward for a real good Guyanese chow Mein meal. When appraoch the Food truck, I was approached by abgentleman from behind me asking rudely “how can he help?” Aand said wait.Uncourteous I must admit. The lady inside was very pleasant and courteous serving dish.Thank You mam…Was disappointed in the dish received. The chow mein was without flavor and the chicken was done more like a stew instead of the regular Chinese style chopped.More like pull meat of the bone.Guess I have to go to lauderdale, Florida for the real dish!!
Won’t be patronizing anymore.

I have been eye balling this food truck for some time debating on trying it out but yesterday I decided to give it a try seen as I love Guyanese food I grew up on it my brother in-laws family is Guyanese and I absolutely love there food. But I was a little saddened that it didn’t have all the flavors I hoped for it was a little bland tasting I’m so used to the bold spices. I’m willing to try it again maybe something different and see if I get a better experience the next time.. overall very nice people and service didn’t have to wait long for my order. Prices are a little high.
