The Roadhouse Mexican Bar & Grill is a year-round mainstay in Benzie County. Chef Miguel draws on his childhood in northern Mexico and love for its food to develop exclusive recipes that attract visitors and locals to dine at The Roadhouse again and again. Located on US-31 at the top of the hill in Benzonia, Michigan the Roadhouse is just steps away from beautiful Crystal Lake. Our restaurant is easy to access from Crystal Mountain Resort, close to Frankfort on Lake Michigan and a short drive from Traverse City. Free parking is available on the street and in back of the restaurant. We pride ourselves on fresh, not fast, food that is hand-prepared daily.

Awesome food! Great margaritas! Loved the coconut margarita on the rocks it was so good! The Chimichanga was so amazing! Service was excellent too! It was super busy but you guys did an exceptional job keeping up with everything!

We only get to come up to this area once a year or so, this was our first time to the Roadhouse and so glad we found it! Gloria is awesome, and our food was also. Very happy to see a cute small place so busy and thriving (and FAST service!) on a Wednesday in off season! Their patio must be great when it’s warm out. A must visit, we hope to return next year. I finally found a good place to get Mexican food in Traverse City area. I always get chimichangas and this is by far the best in the Traverse City area. I wish it would have come with queso and guacamole. If you want those added you have to ask. Only thing is that you’re going to have to wait to get in. And I can see why because this is the only place that serves decent Mexican food in the area.

Heard great things about this place and had to check it out while I was in the area. Ordered the Cabo Salmon, Banana Margarita, & Key Lime Pie. The homemade salsa was delicious too. I should of got a container to go of it. If it’s nice out definitely go eat out on the patio. Anyways, the food & service was amazing.

Best Mexican I’ve had! Service was outstanding and the chicken chimichanga was amazing! My husband had the taco platter and no watery meat at all- lean and delicious. Must try Mexican! Our waitress Marla was the sweetest! It’s a must try if you’re in the area.

My wife and I are traveling the area and stopped in at the roadhouse. What an absolutely amazing place. EVERYTHING is just perfect. The food is amazing. Margaritas are absolutely perfect and the atmosphere cannot be beat. We come up to this area on our anniversary to do the wine tasting but my actual favorite part of my trip is always the Roadhouse.
I forgot to mention the staff: our waitress maybe the best I’ve had in years. And the manager Chris was so nice to us. Thanks again for everything!

Noticed the day before they had a huge line out the door, got here early right before they opened and glad we did because line again grew very quickly. Got in and seated right away, they definitely know what they are doing and handled the rush incredibly well. Got drinks right away and our food within 20 minutes. Everything was delicious, highly recommended.

Excellent service! Our waitress was great and she works two jobs. She was helpful and friendly. The food is excellent from the chips and salsa to the main dish and dessert. I loved the covered outdoor patio. I highly recommend this restaurant!
