Absolutely one of the best experiences. Great spot. Norman and the other young one there tonight. He can mix up the best drinks allowed by law lol. The humans dip and the bread… absolutely amazing.

Came here for a private dinner party last night and what delicious food they have! First time coming here and everything was 5 stars. Not sure about the other reviewers but all of the food we had was moist, tender and delish! I will definitely be eating there again soon! I highly recommend trying them out if you haven’t already! The Chef if a phenomenal chef and all of the wait staff was very polite and attentive to our dining needs.

This is my first visit here, and here’s what I think about this restaurant:

Pros:

– The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing.
– The mocktail is really good, especially after a long swim in the lake.
– The prices are reasonable.

Cons:

– The tap water tasted like pool water—truly awful and undrinkable. I can’t believe they serve this to customers!
– The service was very slow; it took about 45 minutes just to get the appetizers. That’s the kind of wait I’d expect for entrées, not appetizers.
– While the food prices are reasonable, the portions are too small for the price. I left the restaurant still hungry after paying almost $70 for two people.
– Their food menu is limited, and not everything shown in the online pictures is available to order.

Overall Opinion:
If you want to come here for drinks, it’s fine. But definitely don’t dine here!

I got the Kavurma beef and it was so dry and overcooked I could barely eat it. As soon as you bite into it, it would suck all the moisture out of your mouth.
Also, it took about 30 minutes for them to get to us after we got to the restaurant just to get our order, and then it took about another 30+ minutes to get our meal. The waitress only checked on us once, and didn’t really give me a chance to tell her that I didn’t like the food.
On top of that, they were supposed to be live music because it was Valentine’s Day, but she said there was a miscommunication and the musicians never made it there.
The whole night was a flop for my date.
The salad was pretty good. My wife liked her lamb, but she likes almost anything.
I won’t be back.

The speakeasy atmosphere is unlike any other other in South Haven. It is a great place to go to relax. The food is delightful as were the staff. This would be a great stop to add to your South Haven bucket list, just as long as you don’t bring the littles along. This restaurant is strictly 21+.

Great food. Great vibes. Great Drinks. Would highly recommend The River Bottom to anyone looking for somewhere unique and authentic in the SoHa area. We tried the Cucumber Rickey, Rasperry Mule, sampler platter, and a few glasses of recommended wine. Everything was stellar! Lexi our server was kind and hospitable. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

The River Bottom is a new gem in South Haven and omg did they get it right! If you love classic Mediterranean food this place is phenomenal. The vibe is a dark speakeasy and did I mention the food lol, it was so good that I forgot to take pictures when it was first served. The lamb was tender and herbaceous, the pita was seasoned so well I could’ve just ate that and been happy lastly the sampler platter of dips has something for everyone and the service was top notch!

Loved this place. Firstly, the service was friendly, attentive, quick, all the things it should be. The old speckled hen beer was malty and delicious. The sampler platter had a wide range of flavor profiles from baba ghanoush to spicy yogurt dip to carrot dip. The lamb kebab was paired with yummy assorted veggies to put on warm pita bread. Cheers!
