First visit and went for the potato basil soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Soup was flavorful and thick in a nice potato way. Maybe next time can I get a bowl?
Most perfect grilled cheese I’ve had in years. Perfectly toasted, not greasy. Nice crunchy outside. Yes!!!
We shared a slice of key lime pie
Also very good, partner ate some of my share.
Much resentment on my part
Pretty quiet Wednesday night visit after 8 pm. No waiting.

Went in for breakfast and cocktails and was treated to the best bloody mary in town, so says the sign in the window. Without a comparison to other local libations I can say there was nothing about their version that had me thinking otherwise. The food was delicious and a good portion left with me which I later enjoyed for a second time.( Hearty) I would recommend this establishment to anyone comfortable in a busy active social environment with good music.

It’s truly disappointing to see what this once-beloved local favorite has become. Unfortunately, the downfall of this establishment seems to stem directly from its owner, Lisa. Her behavior toward customers is unprofessional, rude, and completely unacceptable, likely all tied to the serious problem she has with alcohol abuse.

Lisa, it’s clear that you need to take a serious look at how your personal choices are affecting your business and the community that supported you for decades. The way you’ve treated long-time regulars and loyal patrons is disgraceful. You were incredibly rude to my friends, and I will not be returning. It is sad how many people you judge, yet you are not willing to take a look in the mirror and seriously take an honest reflection of your own self and the way you choose to live your life.

The food and service have also declined in quality, but even if they hadn’t, the lack of respect and hostility from ownership make this place impossible to support. Please get help and take responsibility for how you’re treating others.

I know you’ll likely respond defensively, but if you’re honest with yourself, you already know the truth. I won’t be back. Put down the alcohol and get the help you know you seriously need.

Happening Friday night vibe on Sunday morning. Loved the cool styled cowboy decor. Corn beef hash while plentiful was nothing like I would have expected- large chunks of corned beef layered up on hash browns, thought it was supposed to be all chopped up. My friends weren’t too thrilled with this chicken fried steak either. Service was really good and the upbeat energy of the place was good, I’d just stick with the basics maybe bacon and eggs or a burger.

I loved this place! it’s a very interesting western looking place. I ordered a Western hamburger w BBQ sauce with a side salad with vinaigrette WOW! Super yom. My IPA was also delicious. They have hamburgers, salDas, sandwiches and specials and wine or other drinks. Plus nice hot coffee or green or black ☕ . I highly recommend it if you pass by.the hamburgers are the best!!!

The Riata Diner & Tavern, nestled in the heart of Livermore, CA, brings a cowboy theme to life. The bartender shines with skill, and the Bloody Marys were off the hook! While the appetizers didn’t wow me, their commitment to local, simple fare is commendable. Would return for the cocktails!

The Riata is one of Livermore’s most reliable go‑to spots—comfort food, friendly service, and a classic diner‑meets‑tavern atmosphere that feels like home. It’s the kind of place where you can walk in any time of day and know exactly what you’re getting: hearty portions, great prices, and a staff that treats regulars like family.

My husband and I decided on a last minute date, asked someone from the area for a recommendation and this is where we ended up. We were able to walk in and sit where we wanted. When they delivered our appetizer, we both commented about the generous portion vs. cost. It was delicious. I chose a riblet special for dinner and my husband got something off the regular menu. They happily swapped out the sides that came with it for any other side I wanted. I also ordered a lemon drop. It was wonderful. It’s rare that I order a drink out and I don’t feel like the bartender is trying to get me drunk, but this one tasted like it should.
The food and drinks were amazing and the portions were generous. Service was perfect.
I also forgot a sweater and purchased one of their signature sweatshirts. I love it. Right up my alley.
This definitely has a ‘locals’ vibe but was very welcoming. My husband and I will be back. We’ve found a new date night location.

Love this place! Went there for Taco Tuesday, the wait was a little long, but once the food came it made sense. You can’t beat the deal! $1 tacos $5 nachos and $3 drinks! The food was great. The atmosphere is a lot of fun.

The SO hadnt been in years, but always bragged about the breakfast shot and bloody mary. Im not an early drinker, so i stuck with coffee and water. The place was hoppin’ at 10am on super bowl sumday, as expected. We sat out front and enjoyed the sun and fresh air. I ordered the mexican benidict w/tots while he enjoyed a generously portioned country fried steak with potatoes. Every thing was excellent. 10/10 will eat there again
