My husband and I were hotel guests this weekend. We decided to dine at the restaurant, were we not impressed with the Hostesses who were not welcoming. We were told there were reservations and the dining room would be full but were offered to dine on the patio. It was a beautiful evening so we decided that would work. Little did we know we had to order at a window and give them a credit card like we were running a tab. This would have been fine in a bar setting but not at all what we expected for a 160.00 dollar meal. For which after our food was delivered there was no service.
Also tried to order two drinks off the drink special list to be told there were out of ingredients for.
I will say that the food was exceptionally delicious, so much so we decided to have breakfast the next morning in the dining room of course.
Again just not the type of service we expected for such a nice hotel. And we did notice while having our dinner outside that there were many open tables and we had yo exit through the dining room. Again noticing several open tables.

We dined here for Valentine’s. The bar is great, great bartender. The dining room is pretty, but the design horrible with a door to the outside where people constantly walk in and out and through the restaurant. The prefix Valentine’s menu was ok at first glance, but upon seating we were warned by the guests at the next table that the seafood option was horrible. Unfortunately that was my choice so I changed to the filet which was tough and the meal very salty. The service was rushed( you must order all three courses in the beginning), the server would drop the food off and then check back sometimes before we even had a bite. The roving “manager?” Came by our table to check on us, and lingered, and then came back again about 15 minutes later with no recollection at all of already speaking to us. When we paused our forks on the way to our mouths as she asked us again how we were enjoying our meal, she realized that she had already checked, but made the decision to linger and ask if we were local, where we were from, how far away is that, were we hotel guests? So for us, this entire experience was a $245 waste of time. $95/person set amount plus tip. The only positive was the bar, but I would never go back there.

Had Valentines Day dinner there. Set meal for $95/per person. Much more than if we were allowed to order off their regular menu, with no extra perks that would give reason for the extra charge. The food was very sub standard, felt like we were in an assembly line, feeling rushed throughout our meal. The couples on either side of us were both complaining about the food that was served to them, warning us about some of the choices. My filet was terrible. The restaurant was not even crowded, but we felt rushed, unable to enjoy a relaxed meal. The restaurant is very loud. Also, they allowed people to access and leave through a side door in the dining room, not pleasant in the cold weather. Felt like we were eating in a waiting area as people were passing by both directions. This restaurant is marketed as a fine dining experience, IT WAS NOT! The only positive, was the bartender was great, while we were waiting for our tables.

Brunch was delicious! I have celiac disease and our server knew exactly what I could have. We subbed cheese grits for the potatoes in my Brisket Bowl. There was enough for me to have leftovers for tomorrow!

We LOVED it here.
We made reservations to make sure we had a place as this restaurant is not tremendously large. We did the 5:30 seating, so we had plenty of room.
We arrived early but were graciously seated and attended to.
Our waitstaff was Bella — and she was fabulous!
We started with the Strawberry Brie Toast. Delicious!!! ..and surprisingly large for two.
We then shared the Seared Salmon. Again – Delicious AND beautifully presented!
Bella was tremendous and gracious to us, and we felt so comfortable and welcome.
We HIGHLY recommend taking a meal here.

We had reservations for Valentine’s Day. One of the few restaurants that still had availability, and that should have been a red flag. 4 of us had dinner, and they had a special Valentine’s menu with no listed prices (red flag number 2, and I’m old enough to know this). 3 of us had small salads and 1 had the beet soup. The salad was mediocre, the beet soup tasted like boiled firewood. For the entree I had fish, small (maybe 6 oz) piece of halibut and I asked for potatoes, which I received. The fish was cooked well, and was small. Two in our party had the coq au vin (chicken stew with balls of bacon fat), and the other had a half cooked rack of lamb. The chocolate tower for dessert was good, the strawberry tart was crunchy and appeared to have had half a bottle of mint tossed onto it. All in all, the food was just okay. I left hungry, and at a cost of $484 (including tip) it made for probably the most disappointing dining experience I’ve ever had. No hard feelings though, I should have heeded the red flags.

I was so impressed by the attention given to our party of 4 with a dog. The weather was cold and rainy and the manager herself set up the heaters and fireplace and tables. She was so caring and attentive. Our server was friendly and warm and caring. Our meals were so good. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the pork chops were delicious. The salads were well prepared. All entrees were presented well and tasted delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We came to the Embers Hotel to stay a few days for my birthday. My husband booked a surprise party in the downstairs restaurant. What an amazing experience!! We also had breakfast each morning and it was equally delicious!! I highly recommend the oyster, filet, and mushroom pate. But everyone loved everything they ordered. And the birthday cake was to die for!! These are pics of a few meals!
