This review is for a lunch meal and at the sit-down restaurant. Traveling along the coast from Morro Bay on CA HWY 1. Need to find a spot to have lunch. Perfect timing that this place came up. Got seated right way and I ordered the Mediterranean salad. Was a good portion, fresh ingredients with the right amount of protein (shrimp). If I were going to go back, I would recommend it. The ambiance is like dining in a greenhouse with a patio deck available. Very welcoming and pleasant service staff. Plenty of free parking and restroom are very clean. Ragged Point is more of a complex; it has an Inn, convenience/fuel station, art gallery/gift shop, coffee shop/snack bar, and burger shop (which was closed). Based on this experience alone, I would have given them 5 stars. However, read on.
We continued our drive up the coast and did some hiking. Knowing that we would stop here for dinner, because we had such an enjoyable meal for lunch. Boy was this not the case. We were totally disappointed. Seated right away, but took a long time to for someone to take our drink order and meal order. Staff are over worked and seem and confused. We saw some people seated after us get their orders in before us. If we had other options, we would have left. But remember you do not have a lot of options on CA HWY 1. Ordered the Pork Chop, It was supposed to be a Iberico Tomahawk, it wasn’t, it was a regular pork chop (be it was a good size). Supposed to come with Apple-Potato Hash, I received regular mash potatoes. Supposed to be Grilled Broccollini it was raw broccoli. When we did get our drink order in earlier, I requested a glass of Chardonay, never received it, but also didn’t get charged. The menu does state the pork chop “(cooked medium)” mine was questionable (as a matter of personal preference I never send anything back, I’ve been known to box it up and cook it longer at home, rather than sending it back). I noticed two other dinners send their steaks back because it was undercooked. This meal was not worth the cost or time. I would not recommend you dining here.
However, do stop, because of the views are wonderful.

We had dinner at Ragged Point Restaurant and made it just in time for sunset! Starved, we ordered fresh oysters, the filet, and ribeye. The ribeye was HUGE and perfectly cooked. Everything was mouthwatering!
High on a cliff top, the property is gorgeous with indoor and outdoor seating, and just steps away from stunning views of the Big Sur coast where you can sit and watch a stunning sunset!
They also have a firepit area where to host live music. Need a break from the road on your Highway 1 road trip? Ragged Point Inn is right next door.

Eating there was delightful. The weather was perfect, the staff excellent, the view (we ate outside) quintessential Big Sur.
There’s a short path around the cliff top with more views.

First off, you must go for a walk on the grounds and see a unique view of Big Sur! We did and we loved it! Lunch was great with three of us ordering the fantastic fish and chips! One of us went for a generous side of tasty sweet potato fries…all at very fair prices and in an amazingly beautiful restaurant. We will be back for sure!

We came here for Sunday brunch, as well as breakfast a couple days later. This place is beautiful! The views of the ocean are stunning. Prices actually aren’t too bad given the view/location, pretty standard restaurant prices. The chorizo eggs benedict and the carne asada chilaquiles with red sauce were both DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. The brisket hash wasn’t really a hash, more just a little pile of meat with eggs on top. The flavors were good, it just wasn’t what we wanted/expected. The crab cake benedict was the whole reason we went back the second time, and it honestly left a lot to be desired. There wasn’t much structure to the crab cake. I don’t know if maybe it was soggy from the spinach or what, but it was kind of a bummer. Overall, it was good enough to where we’ll come back when camping in the area. Pro tip: if you’re going to hike down to the beach, do it BEFORE you fill your belly. The hike back up was rough with a belly full of eggs benedict!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ragged Point – Amazing Breakfast Spot!
Ragged Point served one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The eggs were fluffy, the potatoes crispy, and the veggie omelet full of fresh flavor. The sourdough bread with butter and homemade fruit jam was incredible. Everything tasted homemade and fresh. The staff were super friendly, and the ocean view made it even better. A must-stop!

We came here on a Sunday in June around 1 pm. We were seated fairly quickly and the young lady who was at the front wasn’t too friendly, she didn’t acknowledge my comment about not knowing which door to come in through. When she seated us and we said thank you, we just got a “mmhmm” it’s not really friendly but it’s not extremely rude either. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don’t know; but that’s something I would hate to see happen in my restaurant. It’s a terrible first impression for the customer. On the other hand, the other waitresses were much more friendly. We ordered the Brisket Hash and the Acai Bowl from the brunch menu. Food was okay, nothing spectacular or super special about it. The presentation of the food was great but just judging off of the taste it was okay. The brisket is pretty plain but mixed with the brussel sprouts and other veggies within the hash it was alright. The Acai Bowl according to my kid was average and the biscuits were good. The biscuits went well with the jelly, butter and I think it’s a honey type dip that came with it. Overall my experience here at the restaurant was decent, I didn’t come in with high expectations but it’s a restaurant that serves some interesting dishes and the prices are pretty fair in my book. Maybe the Sunday brunch menu isn’t for me. So I might come back to try other things on the menu the next time around. But the hostess up front definitely needs to work on her customer service skills.

Purchased dessert and a croissant sandwich from the coffee shop. It was exactly what I needed at that moment. The croissant was buttery, crispy and cheesy. The lemon cream pie was like cheesecake.. delicious. It is a little on the sweeter side.
There was live music when we got to the location. That was pleasant.

We enjoyed our stop off at Ragged point. The view from our outside table was spectacular and seeing the little hummingbirds sitting around was great!
The food choice was a little limited but what we had was tasty. Would recommend a stop here if in the area.
