We went there for an early dinner a few weeks ago. It was fairly crowded and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait which was fine with us..We sat outside and enjoyed the view while we waited.

The food is good and so is the service. It is a beautiful new building with plenty of big glass windows with great views of the lake. The problem is the glass looks like it has a film on it. If you have all that glass, keep it clean. I would say this is an upscale place. At least you would think so, seeing the prices , but the table tops are chipped, and they have mustard and ketchup displayed on every table like a 1950s diner. It’s a shame the new lodge is only a year old. In closing, I noticed that the same banister was loose just like it was a year ago when we were first here. Disappointing.

We visited on a Tuesday about 2 pm. It wasn’t busy. We wanted to sit at a table near the window but all those tables were dirty. I told the hostess that we’d wait at the bar so she could clean one of them (or find someone to clean them) She was appalled that I would suggest that she clean a table, as that was not her job. We remained at the bar, as no attempt was made to clean the desired tables. Sadly, the food was no better than the attitude of the hostess. The staff needs to visit Oak Lawn restaurant to learn what real food and service is supposed to be!

I had the cob salad with salmon and it was delicious! Shrimp cocktail was the perfect appetizer. My daughter had the cob salad with chicken. She wasn’t as happy with her since the chicken was tough. We also had burgers and fries and they were yummy! The Bloody Mary’s are amazing!

We ate here when it first opened and loved it. However, today we waited an hour for a table and at least an hour for our food. The menu was limited. We ordered the catfish meal, one piece of fish and no white beans. The service was sub par. We were very disappointed.

We went to the lodge and from the exterior of the building expected the restaurant to be a little more nicer than it was. It has the decor of a lounge at a airport. Thought the meal was overpriced for the amount received. It is not Surprising due to the location. They have limited choices the portions are small.

This is the very first State Park lodge/restaurant that impressed me. Yes, it’s brand new being completed late spring 2022, but it is something to see. The lodge was purposely built to give spectacular views of Kentucky Lake. Outside lounging is enhanced by fire pits built into boulders with Adirondack chairs around for conversation with yes that lake view.

Have been here 4 times and haven’t had a good meal yet. Food is cold and takes quite a bit of time to get it and it’s overpriced even in today’s inflation. Disappointing since you cannot see the lake like you could before and the buffets were so much better. Obvious when parking lot was full and many people drove from all over to eat at restaurant and now there’s no reason to eat there, just go out and have a drink outside the restaurant if you want to take in the view. Hope they fix this but until I hear differently, won’t spend another dime there.
