Excellent food, service, atmosphere!! Staff was TOP NOTCH!! Very attentive, had everything you need before you could ask, and very warm and welcoming! The food took a little longer to cook than I excepted but the live band kept us entertained and our hostess Brittany even brought unique charcuterie samples to try! Made for a great evening!! Highly recommend 10/10

I was lucky enough to have the Regency Room Christmas Buffet twice in December this year. Reservations are easy to get if booked in November, and the reservation staff were very efficient and helpful. Lunch service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The menu did not vary much between the two buffets, but I did not complain. The prime rib with horseradish sauce, snapper, fingerling potatoes, and cheesecake with topping were the standouts for me. The She Crab soup was salty. The bread pudding with sauces looked so delicious, but I did not want to over indulge. The white table settings with dogwood themes were festive but dignified, and decorations in the dining room made for a very pleasant atmosphere. As the dining room was filled, it was somewhat hard to hear dining mates, especially if with a large party.
I noted that the Festival of Trees did not have as many entrants as in past years, and I always look forward to touring that feature. I’m sure in these economic times, it’s tough for non-profits to come up with the funds and manpower to make these typically extraordinary displays. Don’t miss any of the hotel’s special buffets, as they are an excellent seasonal experience.

The most noteworthy aspects of our experience at this fine establishment were its refined atmosphere and the attentive service by most —and I emphasize this word — of the staff. We were particularly impressed by the grace and mastery with which our excellent server, Caleb, attended to us. Though similar remarks can be made about the rest of the staff, a glaring exception is the hostess that we dealt with the evening we visited: the restaurant was almost empty, and yet she refused to give us a table. It is not that we were not dressed properly, either: both of us were wearing suits, and our servers complimented us on our attire. Was it because we are a gay couple? Was it because we are men of color? We didn’t budge, and she eventually had to give us a table.
As far as the food is concerned, we appreciated the vegan options available, as well as the complimentary dessert we were given on our wedding anniversary dinner: the peanut soup was a pleasant surprise; the cocktails were not. We look forward to coming back soon, albeit on a day on which a different hostess is in charge. Thank you, Caleb and all the other welcoming servers.

I just sent a lengthy message to the concierge who told me to let you know my concerns with today’s Thanksgiving meal. Our seating began at 1:30. To begin with, we were seated in the ballroom which felt more like we were eating in a high school gym on prom night than a luxury dining venue. The food was tasty, but instead of being the expected 140 degrees, the hot dishes were just warm. My first cup of coffee was only room temperature. Who was supposed to check the buffet once an hour to ensure safe temperatures? Also, Hotel Roanoke’s website says that there is a dress code for diners. It isn’t stringent, but it is doable for people paying for an upscale buffet. We were shocked at how many guests were attired in clothes they might wear to WalMart or an outdoor sports event. When someone makes reservations, couldn’t they be apprised of the dress code and that sloppy, ripped jeans and the like could deny them seating? The dress code needs to be posted and enforced if you want Hotel Roanoke to remain an upscale dining destination. Our party has made reservations for Christmas, but I hope these concerns will be addressed before then.

The service was slow even though the restaurant was empty. The food was good but not worth the high price. Great ambiance and old fashioned charm but the menu selections were not what we expected. If you can get Pine Room reservations, start there.

My family dined there just before Christmas (December 23rd) for a holiday dinner together and to give the children a nicer experience than normal dining. The service and atmosphere met our expectations, except for the lack of a dress code, and most guests would not have been overdressed at McDonald’s. This would not have been noteworthy in one of the other casual dining options, but out of place in the Regency Room. I ordered grilled mahi mahi with sides of greens and black eyed peas. The mahi was almost tasteless, and the black eyed peas were nearly raw and crunchy. We have enjoyed many family events at the hotel over the years, but this was not one of them.

Saturday night 7:30pm – Cherry Tree Old Fashioned – a little sweet but good, Appetizer – She Crab Bowl – would have been good but it’s extremely salty, Chesapeake Shrimp & Scallops – extremely salty, couldn’t finish it; Pan Seared Grouper – looked good until waitress poured broth over the entire dish and turned it into soup; Intrinsic and J Vineyards wine was good but a little steep at $22 and $19 per glass. The waitress added another wine, which I didn’t order on the bill which I saw and she said “oh that’s right” and removed it. Beautiful place but the food was horrible for $200 including tip.

We’ve eaten here multiple times for brunch & dinner and it is always superb service & amazing food! We especially love going to dinner here and listening to the house band while we eat. It’s very relaxing and entertaining at the same time. The Regency Room is one of the best restaurants in Roanoke.

My husband and I made a reservation after Valentine’s Day to eat dinner here and made it a month in advance. This is an extremely elegant fine restaurant never requires a dress code of suit and tie or evening gown. This is definitely not a restaurant that you can wear blue jeans, boots, and a T-shirt to.
Our dinner was $240 but that is to be expected for a fine dining restaurant inside of a Hilton Hotel.

Amazing place for dinner! Husband and I were staying at the hotel and decided to try this place. We had a fantastic date night! Drinks were great, food was delicious, and service was outstanding! There was also a live band which made it even more fun. We had a great date night! Oh and we also tried the brunch buffet the next morning and highly recommend as well!!! Food is too good!
