Never again… I decided to forgo my review my first time coming to the refuge due to the horrible waiter and 1 hour long wait for our food when less than half of the establishment was full. The place is filthy and the waiter is horrible. I was charged for items I never received and also charged a credit card fee when I paid cash. Our waiter had the personality of a stick. No sorry , no checking in to see if we needed anything. Our table was covered in jelly and he acted as though it was an issue to wipe our table. I am shocked that there would be any repeat guests. Save your money and go to Sullivan’s island or ACME for breakfast lunch or dinner, and definitely switch sections if you get the male waiter, both times he was miserable and mean. To top off our horrible breakfast I asked to speak to the manager and he or she never came over.

Very busy so wait times were long but the food was amazing and the spot is awesome. Even had live music when I was having breakfast. Great spot if you got time to hang out and wait for your food. Shrimp chorizo omelette is great

Great restaurant for a tasty dinner. We sat at the bar and loved the atmosphere. Gluten Free carrot cake is one of my absolute favorites.

This is s great spot for coffee and/or dining. We did coffee and breakfast and enjoyed it. The smoked salmon platter was really nicely done served on a board. Others in the group had great french toast and onlettes. All good. Recommend.

We dined here a year ago when we visited and stayed in Wild Dunes before moving to Mount Pleasant. It did not disappoint and was as wonderful this time as it was then! Had a very nice waitress that was super attentive and charming. We started with the BLT deviled eggs, and had been dreaming about them since the last time, phenomenal! I had a Surf and Turf – lamb chop and lobster that was divine, and the wife tried etoufett and thought it was good. Dessert was a Heath Bar bread pudding that was dynamite! I am so amazed that there are 4 restaurants right next to each other in this plaza and all seem to do good business. Love the Charleston area!

After a few hours at the beach, my husband and I decided to try one of the nearby food places and this one was great! It’s a cute little place but a wide variety menu. Our server was kind and the food was great! I got the omelette (pictured) and my husband got the chicken sandwich. There was even live music! Definitely a nice quick stop!

I just came for the coffee shop side – so i can’t speak to the restaurant. But the coffee shop was clean and the service was fast and friendly! Great selection of syrup flavors and enough seating inside 🙂

The Refuge is a good little breakfast spot located in a little shopping center on the Island of Palms in South Carolina. Our waitress was super nice, helpful and attentive even with a large party. The menu is very wide and they were very accommodating with small adjustments. Some of the standouts were the triggerfish sandwhich, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and the breakfast burrito. If you’re staying on the island for an extended period of time, make sure you stop by!

Split a bunch of dishes (crab cake, she crab soup, Brussel sprouts, deviled eggs, calamari, crab fondue). Food was good. Calamari was only disappointment. Staff was overwhelmed and it was slow to get drinks but we ordered the next round of food as the prior was being served and the kitchen didn’t keep us waiting long.

Went here just after landing in Charleston for vacation! Place had lots to offer and server was good. Had the monte cristo sandwich and summer in Maine drink. Both very good!
