My pup got the bacon from the dog menu. Obviously, he loved it. And we got to take the Frisbee home. I got the fish and chips. The fries are top notch. Crispy and delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked and the batter wasn’t too thick. My friend got pizza and the pretzel. She said it passed her pretzel test! She asked for more salt because most restaurants barely put any, so the regular amount of salt is probably enough.
The person that greeted us was so helpful and explained EVERYTHING. It was so nice, since it was our first time being there. The staff is great and hilarious.
I plan to try out the tacoma location, even more so because of the great time I had at the Puyallup one.
Parking at this place is abundant. Behind it is better than trying to get a spot in front and competing with the other businesses. It is in a good place to do other errands or shopping.
The outdoor dining area has clips towards the bottom of the tables to hook up your pup.
2nd- I did indeed eat all of my meal…not because it was good by any means, but I hadn’t eaten all day and after paying almost $18 for “chili cheese dog” I wasn’t going to walk out and try again somewhere else, however I did not finish the one and only beverage I poured myself.
The review:
Food 1 out of 5- not good, cold, expensive for what you get.
Service 3 out of 5- while the person at the front was very friendly, all they really did was tell me how things worked and brought my food. I poured my own beverage and ordered my own phone on my own phone…so I’m not really sure what service there was.
Atmosphere 3 out of 5- not amazing, not horrible…pretty average.
Now for the bad:
Self serve beverages is fine- there as there are several places that do that.
Selection of beverage- average at best. My beer did taste a bit off.
Food- this is where my real problems start:
1) their menu did seem to offer a decent selection, so kudos to that.
2) it’s weird that you start a tab for your beverages, and then you have to scan a QR code at your table to order you food on your phone…and then pay for that separately.
-also weird that it asks about a tip before as you pay…before you get the food you order yourself and haven’t tasted/seen.
3) The “Dirty Dog” was very disappointing. All the toppings from the chili, jalepenos, cheese, etc came from a can. My cheese was even cold when it arrived…they were NOT busy.
4) Considering everything tasted like it came straight out of the cans of food in a school cafeteria, I doubt I would care to try the other items on the menu.
5) Like others have mentioned: prices were definitely high for the quality of food. $5 for a sub side salad instead of their “house chips”?
$24 for a chili and cold cheese dog and a 2/3 of a beer was a little aggressive. Next time I’ll stop by 7-11 for a Big Bite and make the chili cheese dog myself.
A few very simple upgrades (make your own in house cheese sauce or buy a better brand of fake cheese sauce…slice actual jalepenos…don’t use canned pickled jalepenos…serve the cheese warm) would make this a 4 or 5 star review, and a place I would visit again.
By no means do I need to be contacted/responded to by the owner (as I see they do a lot here). This was my first and last visit, thank you. Also, I imagine you will get defensive anyway since you seem to do that as well. It’s all good!
PS- and yes, you can bring your own food into several tap rooms that also serve food. I do it often.
Owner- reread the review…do the math…$14.50 + $0.75 (jalapeños) + $0.75 (banana peppers) + $6.50 for beverage + tax = ????
Never did I mention chili cheese fries
Are the jalapeños sliced and pickled in house?
Are the banana peppers sliced and picked in house?
Is the nacho (beer) cheese made from scratch daily?
Yes? My apologies for assuming they were not
No? My point exactly
So the gratuity is for delivering food and keeping the place clean…isn’t that what you as the owner pay them for? lol
True to form, you didn’t offer any sort of apology or chance to make it right…you got defensive (and then even go as far as throwing a jab referring to where I’m better suited to go).
Cheers, and best of luck!
Disappointed and deeply unimpressed by the whole experience. Food was fairly decent, but outrageously small portions for ridiculous prices. I’d comment on the quality of the staff, but that would require having any interaction with them beyond a 2 second drop off of food. Will definitely never be returning, I can find a dog friendly place of vastly better quality.
Tone it down just enough so everyone can enjoy the music, talk amongst ourselves if we’d like or at the very least not have our heads hurting afterwards.
It’s just too loud! And btw… we’re young. lol…
