Everything was delicious! The oysters were very fresh and the lobster seafood pasta with creamy sauce was amazing. The menu has a great variety of seafood.
A big thank you to our server Michael for the wonderful service. I came hoping for a huge tropical drink, and although the original one was alcoholic, he helped customize a giant non-alcoholic piña colada for me. It was basically the size of three regular ones, beautifully decorated and tasted great! It ended up being exactly the drink I was most excited about during my trip to Newport.
The service was very thoughtful — they even carefully packed my drink when I couldn’t finish it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Red Parrot! Although some say it’s too touristy I think it is worth the trip. We had a group of five and everyone was extremely satisfied with their lunches. My mother had the coconut shrimp and was very happy with the sweet and light batter. She opted for honey mustard dipping sauce as she does not like any heat whatsoever and thought the sweet and spicy dipping sauce might be too much for her (the honey mustard was one of the best I’ve tried. My sister had the taziki pasta with Kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, chopped tomatoes and chicken. It was very light on the protein but the taste and pasta portion were great. Dad got the Coco Loco Coconut shrimp wrap. Flavor and portion size were great but he said there was maybe two piece of shrimp. The sweet potato waffle fries were a huge hit and not one remained in the basket! Everyone was very happy with the only improvement noted was that for the price the protein portions should be “beefed” up a bit.

We were traveling through and the kind parking attendant recommended this restaurant and we are so glad he did. It was excellent! It was a beautiful day. We were seated by an open window and it felt marvelous. The pumpkin pie martinis were fantastic and each of our meals were amazing along with outstanding service. If we come back to the area we will definitely return!

The food was out of this world. I’m not exaggerating because the fusion of different cultures and styles and flavors are something that you would never have imagined on the menus. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of the menus. So you should look out for that but I got a dish I never had before. And I never would have imagined, could have existed. Whoever are the chefs, they are creative and know a lot about sauces and the palette, And what can go with what and they know what they’re doing. It’s just a chance for you and me to taste great food! Also I do not want mushroom in my sauce and they were very accommodating. So this place has plenty of seafood, but it also has other foods like chili, and burgers, salads etc.And I will show photos of everybody’s food and the service was great. There is a caveat, we’re here in the middle of January. And there we’re very few customers at a normal dinner hour. But they were still open and the food was still great.No one was kicking us out. A few people who came in looked like locals and they sat at the bar and they drank, but they didn’t disturb anything. But I have to say, I do not think that in one night they could this come up with all these amazing dishes without a lot of pre planning which is good.It means they’re really thinking about the customer and how to make their dishes interesting and delicious.. This could be a definite norm, and I did say to our really gracious waiteress, who was very attentive, to thank the chef- she seemed happy and said she would.
And even the drinks are creative. The desserts, I mean, it’s sort of like mixing all different types of cuisines, ….
And you can get simpler foods if you like, it doesn’t all have to be exotic. They like to be creative.But you do not have to be when you go in and eat the food. And at the same time you can get a Caesar salad plain or with protein.. You can get a regular thing.
You can get a burger; you don’t have to mix everything. But you have the opportunity to try all sorts of flavors you might never have thought would go together. And it’s so good and i’m from new york city.And I think if a restaurant like this existed, it would be booked for months.
I think if I were to stay longer in newport.I would definitely return to this restaurant because there are so many more things I’d want to try! And of course, the alcoholic drinks and mocktails looked great. And the desserts are wonderful. We could only fit in 2 into our bellies cause we were so full, but it’s it’s an awesome place. And if nothing else– look at the menus and give it a good thought, because I’m telling you, I’m a new Yorker. And this was beyond even good or great fusion food that i’ve had in manhattan.

Lovely restaurant in Newport, RI that captures the essence of the town. We sat at the bar and received exceptional service. The food was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. This place is certainly worth the true New England culinary experience.

We had Sunday brunch with friends at 2:30 pm couple days before Christmas. There was plenty of space to sit. The moment we were leaving – there was a line at entrance
Food is good, I had French onion soup and fish tacos. Kinda too much for one person – had leftovers to take away

I liked the style, the food and the atmosphere. I got the grilled swordfish blackened and it was very delicious. My wife got the lobster and shrimp pasta and it has a lot of lobster chunks in it, all great. The clam chowder was also a highlight. The menu stated it is award winning with the recipe also containing dill. It sounded interesting and exceeded my expectations in every way. The dill works so well and the clam was very tender, so far the best clam chowder I’ve had. We really liked it and are glad we visited.

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant today for lunch while stopping in Newport in our New England States driving vacation! Kelsie R. Was our server and she was phenomenal! Fun, friendly & informative! I had a delicious Swedish Fish cocktail (highly recommend) I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, my husband ordered the lobster salad! Both dishes were delicious & perfect! We couldn’t resist indulging in the Bananas Franchesca~ YUM!!!
The atmosphere was amazing, 5 out of 5 hands down!

Lobster nachos were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. French onion soup was okay but the nachos were the star of the show. Lobster and shrimp pasta in Alfredo sauce was delicious as well. We got key lime pie to go and it wasn’t bad but not great. Overall would absolutely go back.

Always a pleasure eating at the Red Parrot! We had another fabulous meal where everyone was thrilled with their food choice! My lobster fries were just as delicious as ever! The salmon, tuna, lobster and shrimp pasta as well as the baked cod all came out delicious, hot, and plated with perfection! We look forward to our next visit!
