The Red Mill is such a cute place, but I have never felt as ripped off from a place as I do there. $15.50 for a full sandwich and $8.50 for a half sandwich is crazy for what you get. Pictured is the “Thanksgiving turkey” half for $8.50 (water bottle for scale). It is on regular sandwich sized bread and just so small. Don’t get me wrong, the flavors are pretty good but you just cannot justify the price. $15.50 for two halves of the dinkiest sandwich ever is crazy. We are from Madison and would much more expect prices like that there, but even at artisan sandwich shops in Madison the prices are lower. Coffee and ice cream are expensive there too. We got one medium coffee, one small coffee, 2 whole sandwiches, 2 1/2 sandwiches for over $70 after tip. So for a medium coffee and whole sandwich, expect to pay around $22/person or so.

This place is a little slice of America. Best sandwiches my husband and I have ever eaten. He had the Monte Crisco and I ate the Garlic Ham and Cheese. We both also tried some coffee and it was delicious. Knick knacks in the gift shop are adorable, history of the location is interesting and the area is SO beautiful. Of course we had to go for a walk on the bridge after eating. If we’re ever out this way again, we’re definitely stopping once more.

I’m convinced Hansel and Gretel live here! lol. The Red Mill is an ICONIC location in beautiful Waupaca Wi and a MUST SEE to experience its grandeur! We have been going to the Red Mill for over 20 years – for Weddings, picnics and other gatherings (and photo shoots)! Its STUNNING! Enjoy a casual walk along the pristine trails, read by the river, bring your yoga mat and do a few Namaste’s in the fairyland -eque woods! AHHH Its all very relaxing and calming (great meditation place). A great “get away” from a big city, noise or traffic! On the left side of the building is a public park that you can actually GET IN the water on a hot summer day! AHH! WE love the Red Mill! A great place with great people!

Love this place! We were married in the little Chapel in the Woods in 1990. New owners have done a terrific job in restoring this historical landmark. Also added a top notch coffee and ice cream shop.

Low quality food and hot chocolate and high prices this is honestly a tourist trap. You can buy the same merchandise at micheals or hobby lobby much cheaper. The atmosphere is cozy if you find that cluttered gift shop feel cozy. The veiw of the river just about the best thing.
