I have frequented this place for years. It’s a meet up spot for my old friends and myself. When they’re in town, this is automatically where we go.
The dogs are phenomenal. I tend to stick to my favorites, which are the 6th Ave Strut & Ragin Cajun. Every once in a while I venture out. But my friends like different dogs and they love them. Dining in is so much better, but throughout the years, they’ve made takeout enjoyable. They used to wrap them up for takeout, which meant soggy buns. They now have takeout carriers, which makes it so much better to enjoy if you’re not able to dine in.
Parking can be an issue, depending on what time of day or day off the week you go. However, it is worth it. I promise, you will find something you like, food or drink.

We have been going here for over 10 years now, and have never been disappointed. We are pretty excited about five years ago when they expanded the size of the bar to accommodate all the guests that come, but it is still very crowded most days.

I absolutely love the assortment of hotdog you can purchase and the beer selection is always top-notch! I also recommend that you go every year for the “darkest day “celebration, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing selection of beers, hot dogs, and sausages. Definitely enjoyed the visit. I had the banh mi sausage. It was great. Delicious pickled carrots, hot jalapeños, and a good sausage and bun. Definitely hit the mark.

The Red Hot is such a great spot! It’s a super casual, no-frills place, but the food is amazing. You seat yourself, and the staff is quick to come over and take care of you. Our server was friendly, efficient, and made sure we always had what we needed without being intrusive.

The hot dogs are delicious, and the prices are super reasonable for the quality you get. It’s the perfect spot to hang out with friends, grab a beer, and enjoy some very tasty hot dogs. Street parking is available, and the vibe is laid-back and fun. Definitely recommend it if you’re in the mood for a great, casual meal with awesome service!

Hot dogs and beer – what can be more perfect? The tap list is impressive, and is always being updated as one keg vanishes and is replaced by another. The hot dog list is extensive and inventive, and pretty reasonably priced for these days. We had two dogs, one a standard and one the Cajun with a nice slaw. Service was incredibly friendly and quick. This was the perfect spot to wind up our visit to Tacoma. Oh, and they do have more than just hot dogs. Just don’t look for a Seattle dog here – the rivalry lives!

Visited this place on a whim while in the area for some business. I was pleasantly floored.

The burger had the perfect blend of heat and spice (usually too much of one and not another) and the server was fantastic.

Really enjoyed my lunch—definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area. Kudos to this team and restaurant because I want to go back.

The food was amazing, decent priced hot dogs, a little on the pricy side but they are worth it. Lots of variety and flavors. The service was nice and friendly. They had interesting unique items such as the root beer on tap which was amazing and I highly recommend their Mac and cheese as well as their baked beans. They had good quality ingredients. The atmosphere is of a liberal bar and was nice and enjoyable and not too loud. I would definitely come back again. Parking can be a little tricky if you can’t get a spot outside.

Great restaurant and taproom that is decorated from top to bottom in cool local Tacoma art and memorabilia. Great space for groups, couples, individuals, and friends to spread out. There was a TV playing a movie when I was there but maybe it shows different sports when there’s a big game on. They also host trivia twice a month.

They have an extensive tap list and bottle list, alcoholic and non alcoholic. We tried an IPA, a pilsner and a lager, all refreshing and flavorful. Plus the pils and lagers are $1 off on Wednesdays! Each day has other specials, so check the menu!

The place specializes in hot dogs of various types so of course we had to get one. My Destiny City Slaw Dog was topped with house-made golden BQ sauce, fresh house-made Southern style slaw, onions and all meat chili. I got the chili on the side and I’m glad I did because it let the crispy snap and flavor and juiciness of the hotdog shine. The slaw was also plentiful and perfectly seasoned and marinated. Not too mayonnaisey. I’m a sucker for slaw and try it wherever I go, and there’s was up there in my ranking. The buns were good quality too, nicely speckled with poppy seed. (the chili was good too but just not my thing on a hot dog).

Husband got the Tacoma dog, which looked good. It had some really good mini spicy Italian peppers. Overall good dog but was a bit small for him. So nite for people with medium to big appetites, expect to buy two hot dogs, or get some additional food like the burgers and sides to fill you out.

Price wise, dogs range from $7-$16, where the highest dog is a double essentially and packed with toppings. They are very creative with their toppings and also have vegan and vegetarian options.

Overall, welcoming chill vibe, fresh good food, and a large drink selection at a pretty good price point.

Very good hotdogs, good snap, excellent flavor for the dogs them selves. I did find the Mac and cheese dog a little underwhelming and bland, but a little hot sauce made up for it. I also enjoyed their selection of NA beers. The black something or other was *chefs kiss. Prices are pretty good too. The only thing I found disappointing was the Frito pie, mostly cause the nacho cheese was flavorless. I will say the place definitely has a hipster vibe, which isn’t necessarily my flavor, but I can see the appeal and will definitely stop in next time I need a good hot dog.
