Inviting, cozy atmosphere with easy parking and charming old brick walls. The bar is well stocked, and the service stood out—our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive throughout. I ordered the Prestrami Rubin with Parm fries. It was tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich, and she echoed my sentiment—delicious and satisfying. A great spot for a relaxed meal with solid comfort-food options and friendly service.

I stopped at The Red Fork in downtown Erwin while traveling from Atlanta to Northeast Tennessee for a funeral, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional experience I had. I was traveling with my dog, who was a bit on edge from the long road trip and barked sporadically whenever people left the restaurant. Despite this, Aiden, my server, welcomed us with genuine kindness and patience. He was gracious, attentive, and completely unfazed by my dog’s nerves, which made an already difficult day feel a little lighter.

Because I was dining with my dog, I waited outside until the owner noticed me through the glass door. He immediately came out, warmly apologized for not seeing me sooner, and made sure we were comfortable. The apology was unnecessary — if anything, it was definitely too cold to be dining outdoors, but I had no other option. Their hospitality made all the difference.

As someone who lives in Atlanta, has dined at many excellent restaurants, and even wrote food reviews early in my career, I was genuinely blown away by the quality of the food. The wedge salad at The Red Fork is, without exaggeration, the best I have ever had. The fresh herbs, homemade dressing, and the addition of pickled onions created a layered, unexpected, and absolutely delicious flavor profile.

I also loved the whipped pimento cheese served with what appeared to be homemade crackers and locally sourced chowchow. It was delightful — one of those memorable bites you think about later.

Their beer selection is also thoughtfully curated, representing a well‑balanced mix of local and regional craft brews — IPAs, sours, lagers, and more. It’s clear that care goes into every detail of the menu and beverage offerings, all locally sourced and seasonally influenced.

I honestly can’t believe such an outstanding restaurant exists in my hometown Tri‑Cities area. Between the exceptional food, the warm hospitality from both Aiden and the owner, and the overall welcoming atmosphere, The Red Fork provided the perfect end to a long and emotional day of travel. I will absolutely return, and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through or living nearby.

Not sure why this place wasn’t packed for lunch. The cocktails were TOP NOTCH. The service was amazing. And the food was delicious!
We don’t come through this area often but we are hoping to once the new music venue opens and when we are there, we will definitely eat at The Red Fork.

My wife and I came here for the first time due to glowing recommendations and we were right to do so! We were lucky we didn’t come on Wednesday as it was fully booked but Thursday evening seem like the right choice. Our server Aidan was excellent, friendly and on point. He always checked on us, filling our waters and was very detailed with any questions we had about food. I had the burger and my wife had the beef and tators (which is not on the menu officially due to high, high demand and always running out of it). Both were fantastic! For desert we shared the Whiskey and Bacon Apple Hand Pie and that was very tasty! I will say if you aren’t a fan of savory dessert that I don’t recommend it. This was the perfect anniversary dinner.

Wow!!! Great food. First time here. I live in NC and was running errands in johnson city and need food in the way home. I uave to admit, i haven’t been impressed with anything ive tried in the area, until tonight.
I find it hard to find healthier food options.
Im so glad I tried this place. I was about to give up on trying food over here.
The lady who took my takeout order, was super nice and genuinely patient with me.
I got the trout with spinach and cornmeal gnocchi…best gnocchi ive ever had. Love the cornmeal infusion.
The trout is a good portion and cooked perfectly the skin peeled right off for my dogs 🙂
Will definitely be back any time i uave to come through town!

Came by for dinner for the second time since they opened. The venison plate was tender and flavorful! My cocktails were fabulous. We had our toddler with us and the staff here were incredibly accommodating and attentive the entire time. One of the staff even gifted my son a small toy car, I thought this was so kind!

Fantastic restaurant in Erwin not to be missed– one of the best in the Tri-Cities! This is a (somewhat hidden) gem we are lucky to have. The dishes are high quality and very reminiscent of Timber because it is owned by the same person. Service is always on par and friendly. I’m obsessed!

From the minute we walked in, Red Fork made us feel right at home even though we were visiting all the way from Georgia. The food was absolutely amazing full of flavor and everyone was so welcoming and genuine that it felt like we were one of the many regulars instead of visitors. This restaurant isn’t just about great food but it is also about the heart behind it. If it were possible to give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Updated in 2025: this great spot celebrates a year being open and enduring a massive flood in our area.
Food is still excellent, interesting cocktails and breezy outdoor seating. Adding new pics since they update the menu seasonally!

Such a delight to have a unique menu of quality food in tiny Erwin! I couldn’t believe their drink menu offered a Pisco Sour- and it was delicious! Great variety of food choices, from small light dishes like the fennel-apple-hazelnut salad I enjoyed to the steak with horseradish sauce. We ate inside, but I look forward to visiting after work to enjoy their outdoor patio area.

I’m so excited to have a restaurant this good so close to our home! I loved the variety of flavors and that there were a decent number of vegetarian options. Each dish we tried was flavor-packed. I loved rotating between the mushroom sandwich (juicy with a unique lemon flavor), truffle fries (with garlic aioli dip, so much better than ketchup), and the hot honey cornbread (more like dessert covered with butter and honey, but with a kick). We’ll definitely be back! And now we have a good go-to restaurant for friends and family who come to visit.
