First, it’s a bar and it serves food fit for bar flies. I read the menu offering of something to the effect of roast ribs with au jus gravy, au gratin potatoes, with grilled asparagus and baby carrots and thought I’d try it. I was hungry so I ate it but it wasn’t at all worth the $15 it cost me.
The roasted ribs or whatever it was advertised as reminded me of straight up canned roast beef that likely come from the dollar general down the street. There was actually some roast involved, but it was covered in something canned for sure. Very watery and very greasy.
Once I used the salt and pepper packs I was given with it, the meal actually wasn’t bad tasting. It was just too greasy for my taste. I get it though, greasy food and alcohol go hand and hand.
The veggies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They appeared and tasted grilled. A grilled veggie medley would’ve been a better meal choice imo.
My friends tried a reuben and a cheeseburger. They also ordered chips with their sandwiches instead of fries or rings. I tried a chip, I didn’t mind it, but my friends said they were too salty. And the friend who ordered the burger said it tasted good but was too messy.
My server seemed really busy, if I was guessing she was the only server working. It took quite a while to place my order and another diner I didn’t know asked for my menu when I sit it down. I wasn’t sure how long a refill of my water might take, so I nursed it in case.
I can say I appreciate that they did check id’s at the entrance. And they had karaoke advertised certain nights and a friend mentioned they had a lady’s night sort of thing going, so that’s nice. The location is fine, it isn’t far from other food choices at least. If I went back, I’d fill up somewhere else cause the red carpet lounge is meant more for drinks.
Large outside area with patio and tables, live music on the regular. Gambling machines as well.
The food was tasty bar food. I had the cheese steak and a lot of drinks for $30.
