I want to sincerely thank Red Bandana Bakery for the amazing dedication cake you made for our daughter. Not only was it beautifully done, but it tasted absolutely incredible. Guests kept asking if the cake was homemade because of how fresh and delicious it was. Thank you for your attention to detail and for adding such a special touch to our celebration. We truly appreciate you!

Great 100% gluten free bakery! Many vegan options as well! We got our wedding cake from here and loved it! Favorite reaction? Guests complimenting the cake, then learning it’s gluten free. Our favorites are strawberry, lemon, and vanilla.
With numerous food allergies and dietary restrictions, we more than appreciate Jamie’s ability and willingness to go above and beyond to accommodate! All guests enjoyed dessert without restrictions and that means a lot. The photos are of our anniversary cake, wedding cake, and a birthday cake.

Got the signature bonfire brownie cake! It was such a hit for my friends birthday at our restaurant. I am so grateful. The number one comment about this cake is that the texture was “different” in a good way. The cream cheese was amazing! I have not had a frosting like that before and this made our experience special. Everyone couldn’t wait to get a piece of this! The service at red bandana is top tier! Thank you

Friendly service and very high quality product. We ordered these cake pops for our son’s birthday party. Nobody even noticed they were GF and the kids were all very happy. Zero complaints here!

Jaimie at Red Bandana Bakery is one of my go-to bakers for weddings, birthday parties and more. She is incredibly responsive, her desserts are delicious and we love that her items are also gluten-free. I’ve used Red Bandana Bakery for several weddings and she never disappoints! She also offers couples a wedding anniversary cake after their first year of marriage which is such a thoughtful and great perk! Highly recommend!

I have had three personalized cakes I have ordered. Chocolate, lemon, and red velvet. The lemon was great! Our party really enjoyed this flavor. However the chocolate and red velvet (which are very similar bases) just genuinely do not taste good. There is a weird chalky artificial taste to it. Almost like if someone made chocolate flavored taffy as a cake, rather than a true tasting chocolate cake. I called the bakery last year after our first order to tell them about the chocolate not tasting good and they initially told me they recently changed their recipe. A while later we ordered a red velvet, hoping the base of the chocolate flavor would taste better. It does not. It’s a shame! But honestly the flavor of the chocolate cake is really not good at all, and neither is the red velvet. That said, we did enjoy the lemon flavor, and this bakery does a fantastic job at decorating cakes! I am pleased with every other aspect of this shop. But I cannot stress enough how gross the chocolate is. Our guests at our parties even commented on it. Those who had the chocolate a year ago, and tasted the red velvet recently, even brought it up and agreed on the gross taste. No one finished the cake or wanted to take any leftovers. If this shop could tweak their chocolate cake recipe, that’d be great! Anything to make it taste better. Our party ended up primarily eating the other desserts that were brought (brownies and cookies) instead of our expensive cake that we purchased.

Red Bandana provided delicious gluten-free pastries for our wedding in Northern Virginia. We had a specific need to keep the entire menu gluten-free since the bride had celiac’s disease. Additionally, we wanted a cake for cutting, but wanted to have a different pastry as our main dessert. When we went into the bakery for our tasting, Jaimie Mertz guided us through all of our options including different cake and icing flavor combinations, as well as their full selection of pastries. Red Bandana provided everything we needed including a massive table display of gluten-free cinnamon rolls surrounding our cutting cake. They delivered everything exactly how we wanted it on the day of the wedding and coordinated with our wedding planner so that we did not need to worry about it. It made us so happy to serve delicious gluten-free desserts at our wedding and we would definitely recommend Red Bandana Bakery’s catering. CREATIVELY DELICIOUS – THESE CUPCAKE DESIGNS WERE A HIT AT THE DC PUBLIC LIBRARY INAUGURAL HORROR FILM FESTIVAL! Oh my gosh, I was totally blown away! When I decided to order some cupcakes to boost up the ambience of my comedy-horror film, one of six feature films at this event, I had no idea of what suggested designed to give or even the colors for the 36 cupcakes. When I picked up the cupcakes and saw how creatively Red Bandana Bakery, put on there “MAGIC ARTIST HAT” and somehow managed to think of a way to decorate the cupcakes to reflect not just a theme of the event, but also reflective of the poster advertisement For this film festival, I along with all other attendees were left speechless. How do they do it? Who knew that the gluten-free cupcake could be created with vegan frosting that taste absolutely delicious – everyone was blown away that the cupcakes were gluten-free with vegan frosting. I continue to have peace of mind that when I ask for something to be creative and don’t not have any ideas of the direction of it this cake or cupcake Jaime and her crew come together and create a product that leaves your stomach, happily satisfied with peace of mind that what you are eating is gluten-free and even has vegan frosting! KUDOS RED BANDANA! ♥️

Mouthwatering, delicious, addictive, and has never failed me yet! It’s this time of year, I always get a cake or cupcakes for my partner’s birthday- this time I tried the carrot cake with the traditional buttercream frosting (without milk ) versus the vegan which I usually get… oh my gosh-I’m not ashamed to I had a “Hallelujah” moment as I savored every bite from beginning to end –it as good was just as good as the vegan ♥️ .

To add, I want it sunflowers and giraffes on the cupcakes – I don’t know what magical fairy dust Jamie uses to make her creations come to fruition from your vision/mine to on a cupcake exactly do you want it?- aren’t these sun flowers and giraffes so adorable? I will honestly admit. I think Red Bandana has the best gluten-free bake goods I have ever tasted to date. I’m not gonna lie. I’ve tasted a lot of gluten-free baked goods all around this countryy, and I can honestly say From perspective from a native New Yorker that Red Bandanna has the gluten-free carrot cake, or cupcake I have tasted to date; heck, even the cupcakes of other flavors!!! have never been disappointed in all these years I do try to discipline myself when buying any baked goods from here and I at attempt to freeze (They freeze), but I’ll admit they don’t last long because they are sooo good!! It’s such a great feeling knowing that I can go somewhere and get something sweet to eat or even if I a slice of gluten-free-vegan pizza be happily satisfy way to go Red Bandana!!!

Stopped by Red Bandana Bakery in Bethesda and tried a chocolate cupcake, some focaccia bread, and their pomegranate Persian drink. Honestly, this place felt pretty mid to me. The bakery itself wasn’t super clean, which made the experience less enjoyable. The cupcake was unfortunately dry, not what I was hoping for. The Persian drink was way too sour for my taste, and the focaccia bread didn’t impress either. Probably wouldn’t return here; it just didn’t hit the mark for me.

I was pleasantly surprised! For gluten free and vegan, my cupcake and brownie were not dry. Both were so delicious and I devoured them both in the car within 5 mins of leaving. Saving this bakery to my map and I’ll be back
