For sports fans, the numerous large-screen televisions ensure you won’t miss a moment of the action. But the real star of the show is the taste of Michigan! As someone who grew up there, seeing and enjoying Faygo soda, Vernors Gingerale, and authentic Detroit-style pizza brought back a flood of wonderful memories. Each bite of that square, cheesy-crusted pizza was a delicious trip down memory lane. Love that Detroit style pizza. The crust was thick, chewy and crisp. The marinara sauce on the top was spicy. It was $27 for a large Mott (with 4 veggie toppings) and it was delicious. They even have vegan pepperoni. I like that the owner from Detroit makes an authentic pizza.

Absolutely the best wings around. Chuck and Sara are the best, they always provide excellent service and conversation. The Hockeytown pizza is my favorite and don’t forget the garlic parmesan fries! Two thumbs up!

Our first time here and we ordered takeout online. I liked that they texted you when your order was going in the oven. It was ready right on time! The only minor thing we didn’t enjoy was the cookie was way overbaked and hard and the toppings on the one pizza was a little too extra crispy and borderline burnt. The pizza was pretty good as well as the cheesy breadsticks. The mozzarella sticks werent bad but probably not something I would order again. Overall, decent pizza and we will probably be back. 🙂

I saw ricotta and had to get The Barry pizza. It was my first time trying Detroit style pizza and I loved the crispy cheese crust! My friend ordered The Hockeytown and she enjoyed it too. She wanted to watch the Colorado Avalanche game and they were very nice to put it on for us. Check them out!

On a vacation back East, my brother introduced us to Detroit Style pizza. We loved it and looked into finding a restaurant that serves it here in the Phoenix area. We discovered this particular restaurant – The Rec – and loved it just as much! We ordered a medium pizza half sausage, half pepperoni. They use fresh mozzarella and the crust was crispy on the outside and infused with flavor. We also ordered Buffalo wings (bone in). They were delicious as well and had a slightly smoked flavor to them from also being grilled. We were very happy with our meal and will return.

Lots of toppings on your dog. We had the Cheese coney dog, it had chili, cheese, onions, and mustard on it. The taste was great, only thing we thought could be better was the chili was warm not hot, so the cheese didn’t melt.
The garlic/park fries could easily satisfy 2-3 people. The fries were cooked to perfection! Their fries are thick enough that you get the crispy on the outside and still have soft in the middle!

Totally worth going out of your way for a small-town-feeling Midwest-like experience! We tried the Trammell pizza, fried pickles, and coney dog- all of which were amazing! The Detroit style pizza had the absolutely perfect texture on the crust and the toppings and sauces were plentiful. It’s not something you can find just anywhere in The Valley, and was totally worth the long drive for us! We’ll totally be back next time we are in the area.

This place is AMAZING!! The Detroit-style pizza is unique with the sauce on top and has intense, delicious flavors! This was our second visit and my husband had The Miggy and it was delicious! The wings are also top-notch and delicious; we had a smoky tangy sauce that left us wanting more!

Wow – first time having Detroit style pizza. Very rich and crispy. One slice is enough! The green chili wings were amazing and the meat fell right off the bone. It’s a small place and very popular right now. I recommend going in mid day to avoid the traffic or order take out.
