I was on a lunch break from work today, my route was in Santa Cruz and asked google for the nearest Taco Spot. It recommended me this place. Very nice corner spot and great seating area. I ordered 1 Al Pastor taco and 1 asada quesadilla just to try out the food quality. Honestly the meat was absolutely delicious!!!! Their meat is very well seasoned and the tortilla for my taco is made by hand or how we say in Spanish “Tortillas hechas a mano.” Absolutely fire Told the owner “Memo” that his food was absolutely delicious and definitely coming back for more when I’m in the area next time! Definitely worth the money if you want quality tacos & burritos, and no more

These are hands down the best carnitas tacos in Santa Cruz. No question. I don’t want to hear any debate. The carnitas were crackly/crispy on the outside and soft/tender on the inside. The quality here is leagues above everything else in Santa Cruz. This place is better than pretty much anything you will find in the South Bay as well which is saying a lot.

Really tasty tacos and burritos here. I liked my al pastor and baja style fish taco and my husband was happy with his asada burrito. My toddler had some of the rice and beans. This food truck is unassuming but makes delicious food and easy to order online for pick up as well. They have some parking spots in front and some tables to eat at.

The Real Taco had good authentic Mexican food. They opened at noon but it took 30 min to get food out because they literally opened at noon. So food wasn’t ready to come out for a bit. You can pay with card and order at the window or the exterior order tablet. They are parked in a lot attached to a brewery, so several people were having beers and waiting for food. It got quite busy at 12:30. Their presentation was beautiful. Food was fresh and very tasty. I had the fish tacos. My husband had steak tacos. I’d for sure eat here again and try some other options.

Some how awful and not filling. Horrible red rice that I think used red 40. Beans that were drier than the Sahara. Burrito was 60% tortilla. Didn’t give Chips or Salsa with food. Waited 30 minutes and their texting system was done so I didn’t know when my food was ready. I think they used mozzarella cheese?

Amazing tacos on fresh made tortillas, prices a little high but worth it. Must try the Anaheim pepper tacos, their California burrito with carne asada is also amazing. You can taste the quality of their meats, top notch Mexican food truck with food better than most Mexican restaurants. California burrito is amazing

Not impressed by this food truck based on the 4.6 rating which led me here, I was raised by an excellent Mexican cook and this was not it, the Birria burrito was about 60/70% rice, I literally forked it out and noticed the skimpy meat portions, birria was not sauced up, on the dry side, green avocado salsa was salty, I also ordered the rolled tacos (flautas) and thought it was probably one of the crispiest but also very bland paired with the salty green sauce, next time I’ll grab some tacos if there is a next time. If you do happen to order a burrito ask them for light rice, and extra meat, I paid close to $40, kind of upsets me when I think about it, do better please.

The Real Taco is Santa Cruz’s best kept secret. In a crowed arena of great authentic Mexican cuisine, I repeatedly come back to the food truck on Mission and Laurel for the best Quesabirrias and fish tacos I’ve ever had. The customer service is great, food is consistently great and there’s nothing bad to say about this humble food truck.
