The restaurant is inside of an old house or inn, something like that, and is beautiful. The wood slat flooring is original and reveals the basement below between the boards, there is exposed brick where the plaster has failed over time. Honestly it’s a beautiful place to sit.

Sadly that’s really the highlight. The food was mediocre at best, and unappetizing at worst. For example, the fries had zero salt on them and were soggy. The fish sandwich had all but no flavor. The nachos on the other hand, were simply tortilla chips with melted cheese and a chopped green salad dumped on top. There were 3 black olives, a table spoon of salsa and sour cream on the side, and the wet salad made the tortilla chips soggy. Would highly recommend avoiding it at all possible costs.

Service was meh. The waitress was friendly, but the experience was poor. The first issue was the nachos appetizer was placed on the table approximately 45 seconds before our main course was served. I mean, come on! But that fails in comparison to when she picked up a menu that had fallen onto the floor under our table, reached over top of our food, and placed it back onto the table. Not pausing to wipe it, or taking it away to clean it, just straight from floor to table over top of our food as we ate.

Like I said, atmosphere was charming, food was palatable (and only memorable for the wrong reasons), and the service needs significant help.

Went in for Friday’s Smoked Prime Rib special with my family and a few friends. Three of us ordered the special and it was absolutely terrible!! The cut of meat did not appear to even be the classic prime rib. Resembled a poorly cooked 10-12oz strip steak. On top of that all three steaks came out only slightly warm on the outside and completely undercooked, “redish-purple” on the inside. We all requested med-rare. The two sides werent anything spectacular either. This meal cost $33!! I will say, our waitress did a good job and seemed empathetic to our concerns. She asked the manager to come to our table and though we got an apology and the excuse “it so cold outside that our kitchen has ice in it”, no real steps were taken to right the issue. One final issue was the temperature in the dining area was maybe in the low 60’s. Several in my party had to put their jackets back on just to stay warm while eating. Again the waitress did a good job throughout this experience in my opinion keeping our drinks full and needs met, but the kitchen staff and leadership are not doing a good job at putting out consistent, quality meals or addressing shortcomings as they arise.

We had a nice time at this restaurant. Our waitress was very pleasant. A good value for the quality of food and atmosphere. And we didn’t have to drive into the city. If you live in the city, drive out to the country for a good meal – bring your friends for a good time.

Literally ditto to the review before this one. We were there on the same night as the prior reviewer and with a group of friends . The place was so cold, my ankles ached til we left. The 2 prime ribs ordered definitely were NOT prime rib. Even the waitress was confused between the NY Strip steaks that we also ordered and the prime ribs. Medium rare was too rare. Strip steaks had a lot of gristle. Not sure who their meat supplier is, but they need a new one. The meal was extremely overpriced, but we didn’t feel like driving into Lancaster so we stayed local. Choices are slim in the southern end but let’s do better. We didn’t complain, but we won’t be back. I hesitated to leave a review until I read the prior one and was shocked to see it was our experience too.

Cozy little local spot. Friendly service. Brickhouse fries and crab cakes were great! The mashed potatoes…not so much. Add some butter/garlic/ or something. Overall though great little joint, will definitely return

Probably just ordered the wrong thing ‍♀️
The chili was really not tasty
The server said it was homemade so I had an expectation of it being delicious but it wasn’t.
The cornbread that was served with it was good but the chili, definitely not. It literally tasted like spicy ketchup was the base/sauce
My husband ordered the Philly beef salad which was pretty good except for the fries that tasted stale and old. Had they been fresh, the salad would have been very good.
The service was friendly and accommodating.
Probably need to give it another try and make better choices on what we order

The staff were very friendly and right on top of things. We sat out on the deck which was so nice. A perfect day for the deck. My husband’s cheese steak was good. He took 1/2 of it home. I had chicken and biscuits which was outstanding. Chunks of chicken breast and veggies in a cream sauce and a giant biscuit on top. It was so good. We will definitely be going there again! Our dogs enjoyed the steak and chicken too.

I was so excited to try here. I heard so many wonderful things. But tonight I was beyond disappointed. I called my order, I used the menu on the website. It needs updated. It was extremely loud, so my server had issues hearing me. My kids and I arrived early. Sat in the pretty full parking lot. All take out orders are picked up at the bar. So I went with my underaged son, as we walked in. I noticed a lady staring and I thought she may be concerned with him being underage. I walk up and no one says a word. 3 servers and the owner. I said I’m here to pick up our order. Owner replies with a take out. She then says something to the servers about who is going to check us out. The young lady said she was, but hasn’t said a word to us. We were never treated, never asked to give them a moment nothing. She slides over my slip, I look at it. It’s mine so I hand over my card and I’m left hanging. So after a few I bring my hand back and kinda motion towards the owner. The young lady says are you ready? I replied with, I’ve been trying to give you my card. No reply. She cashes us out, then slides it back with a pen. So I sign and did not leave her a tip. My son and I continue to stand and wait. The owner walks back into the kitchen, comes out and says your food is all ready it’s just all over the place. She goes back to folding silverware in napkins. Which is what she was doing when we arrived. Another young lady, kept looking at us, concerned maybe.. feeling bad for us. Idk, my son said he was ready to walk out and I told him I was too. The young lady looked at us again and I smiled. She smiled back. Finally our server goes back to the kitchen to get our food. She hands it to us and says have a good night. My daughter got the brick house chicken bowl. She didn’t finish and has thrown up the chicken tenders. My cheesesteak was ok. I paid extra for mushrooms and onions but could barely taste it. I did pull my sandwich apart looking for them. I clearly stated for my sons burger, lettuce cheese and bacon. He got tomatoes as well. Thank goodness he wasn’t looking when I checked our food. Cause he would not eat it. He currently will not eat it since his bun is half burnt.i personally don’t think the bun is burnt bad. So I don’t how it taste. The crab dip is alright.
I forgot to mention we got a side order of mashed potatoes. Very strong with pepper. I found our pickles when I was breaking down the boxes to trash our stuff. Also the sandwiches come with chips, but if you want you can substitute for fries at an extra cost. It’s on the menu and I did skip over it. But a lot of other places will remind you. That one is totally on me. The pickle is hidden under the paper.
