February 2023, The Ranch Steakhouse in Historic Phelan opened its doors to serve the Tri-community and surrounding areas. With the Best Quality ingredients, an incredible chef and owners that have been local to the area since 1978, we are excited to offer an incredible menu from Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Desserts and hand crafted drinks. In our separate Country bar area, you’ll be able to experience local talent, music and more while enjoying incredible drinks. A late night menu will be offered in the Country bar. Really good food. My boys got Laredo burger and my husband and I shared the chicken fried steak. It was more than enough food. Burgers were a little charred for my taste but they had asked how they wanted them cooked so I’m sure if you say a little pink it won’t be charred. Gravy was delicious and fried zucchini was very good. I like good ranch (especially if you are named The Ranch) and it was really good. Would go again if in the area

Went to dinner last night to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their meals. My son ordered the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered my daughter the molten lava cake she said it was way better than the other places we’ve been that offer it. Drinks were amazing loved the specialty drinks. We will definitely be going back.

The gravy was perfect. And a side of mashed potatos and salad. Can’t go wrong. I recommend it to everybody. Don’t forget to say hi to Kelly when you come in. She takes good care of you. My tea glass was never empty. She’s cute, too. The restaurant is west from the fifteen fwy down Phelan road about eight miles.The Restaurant has been here for a few months, It’s getting better everyday, please come show your support. Overall it was good. My chicken fried steak was large and tasty. It was super crowded so the service was slow, but expected. They busted as hard as they could….That night there was something wrong with the mac n cheese, couldn’t eat it…hopefully its better when you go. Soups and salads are served with the meal, not before. We’ll definitely go back and give them another chance.

My 1st time in there, it was my birthday! Everyone, even the owners, came to my table to wish me Happy Birthday. One couple bought a cake, and the music was everything I requested, the Bartenders were awesome! A big thank you to The Ranch Steakhouse for making my birthday special! Oh! The lighting is fine for daytime, but is just too bright for evening dining. It takes away from the whole experience. I’m referring to the restaurant itself, not the Tavern/barside.

When I heard about this place, I worked myself up thinking about those steaks. I hadn’t gone since it opened, figured I’d let the Opening ambiance slow down. Went last night for first time, taking my male companion out for his birthday. I thought, this will be the perfect place, he loves steak… What man doesn’t? We were told we’d have a minimum 20 to 25 minute wait, as they were full and only two tables for two against a wall were open that were insufficient for what we wanted to order. So we waited and waited and waited, until only one other table with three patrons were in restaurant to get our order taken. We ordered two Corona ‘s and one sweet glass of red wine for me. Wine wasn’t sweet Corona was on target. We ordered the prime Rib as that’s all they had to offer with two sides and a salad for 28.00. They only had one baked potato left so, I passed and let my companion have it, it’s his birthday right?
That kind man shared half with me and that was about the best thing at that restaurant. The service was slow while waiter and waitress’s walked in and out of bar not even giving a helping hand to clear tables till everyone was gone but us an the other table of three. I cleared our own table to sit down when we got there. When waitress finally made it to our table she wiped it down with a wet rag and left it pearled with water putting our menus down upon it. I had to ask for napkins to dry the table and the menus. Upon receiving our plates, we could see that the illustrations in their ad, does not even compare to what you will get on your plate. The steak may be the weight but you are getting nothing to what you expect. The steak is a fabrication of real meat in my opinion, I’ve watched many videos of how meat is put together for restaurants to serve as a authentic steak, while this steak fell apart on its own, like pieces separated without using the knife.. Was 70% fat and only one circle of meat in the middle of fat. I was so disappointed only because this day was my companions birthday, and I wanted it to be special. Just the look on his face told the story. That will be our last visit there,at least mine. The waitress was sweet as pie but steak was raw and we asked for medium rare not raw. I took my whole meal home and my pooch ate it and loved it and so did his girl when he got home to her.. The box you receive for your take home is card board and if your leftover has any juices to your dish, you’ll be sorry, as it leaks through before you even get it home. Reminded me of recycled cardboard.Got soggy and fell apart. Yuck! The bathroom smelt of septic but it was clean, I’ll give them that. The seating arrangements are CRAMP and walking through isle is uncomfortable, as you practically brush people while walking by them, and if a waiter is standing at table shooting the SHIZ you can’t get by, had too take another route. I am a small women 5″1 and 140lbs so I shouldn’t have had any problem getting by, I still felt too close to the other restaurant patrons. Maybe less seating or better seating arrangements would work. I guess you could say I was disappointed and humiliated by taking someone so special to me there to receive such a fake steak. I’m so Blessed he graciously thanked me but without that kiss, told me everything. Better days to come and no more steak out houses. BBQ my own at home from now on. No regrets just enlightened. Great atmosphere and family friendly. As a family, we eat here quite often and have never had a bad meal. They have daily specials and are connected to the bar next door, so you can pretty much get any drink you want. Our favorite night to come in is Tuesday for taco night.
