Just had another fantastic meal with friends at the railway. The whole night was nothing short of perfect. Tom, Andrea and all the team make you so welcome and every single dish we had was so tasty, and nobody left so much as a pea for the birds. I tried one of the new dishes on the menu ,the chicken, bacon and mushroom tagliatelle and it was 10 out of 10 and followed it after a good break with the spotted dick which took me right back to school Massive thank you to everyone and we’ll see you on Sunday for the best quiz night in town Xx

Lovely food and friendly service. Layout of tables were a little close to each other could do with spreading out. It’s a beautiful place to eat. Went on a Thursday and their website suggested desserts were half price when mains purchased. However, we did pay full price, so I am unsure if this offer has expired or if for a specific time, although this was not clear on the website.
I thoroughly enjoyed the food and will be returning.

Stopped in for a quick pint while waiting for my train home, its right opposite the main train station. Staff friendly, dog friendly, they had a few good beers on top and a really nice outside seating area. Didn’t have any food

My first time here, I just wanted a coffee – they didn’t have any oat milk, so I ordered it black – it took about 10 mins to arrive and it came with a small jug of milk, having asked the lady if it’s cows milk or oat milk, she couldn’t tell me!
It was a nice cup of coffee, though, and did come with a vegan biscuit which is why I’ve given it 3 stars instead of 2 which is what I was going to give it. Also the clientele seemed friendly.
Oh, very poor vegan options on the menu, think there was just a burger, but I didn’t have it.

What a wonderful pub! I had a 45 minute wait for a train, so crossed the road for shelter and refreshments. I was not prepared for the amazing interior – a real log fire, with fab wood smoke scent, lovely comfy seating, very pleasant glass of wine, tasty snacks. It contrasts with the dreary pubs that seem to be so commonplace

Perfect place for waiting for the train, especially in the winter when they’ve got an actual fireplace lit. Food there never disappoints. Outdoor area pet friendly.

We came as a large group on a work night out on Halloween. We also work in hospitality and we were told it should be a really good night so we changed our original venue of choice to the Railway.
We did not feel welcome by the bar staff at all, no smiles and really poor customer service. A few in our group had made comments that they did not feel welcome. The bar team were very abrupt and did not seem to want us there let alone be there themselves. After being huffed and puffed at when buying drinks on both occasions and after the comments my team were making to me about the poor service we decided it was best to leave.
Very disappointed as we had hoped to spend the night there but I don’t think any of our group will be in a hurry to revisit the Railway.
