Social Profile:

Drawing inspiration from the success of his steakhouse’s bar menu, award-winning chef Mike Mariola founded The Rail in 2011 as a full-service burger restaurant and bar suitable for any occasion. The Rail’s burgers are honest and local; 100% of the beef used in our restaurants comes from local farms. The well-rounded menu also features local chicken, local dairy products used in our milkshakes, draft beers born and brewed in Ohio and craft cocktails with spirits from local distilleries. We take our beer and cocktail selection as seriously as we take our burgers. We highlight a locally curated cocktail and beer list with spirits from Ohio-based distilleries and beers from Ohio-based breweries, rounding out the complete Rail experience.

Hip local chain serving gourmet burgers, shakes, local beers & cocktails in a stylish space.

We stopped for lunch on a Monday afternoon. The place was not crowded, so we were seated immediately. The interior is nicely decorated and has a large bar area as well. They have around a dozen beers on tap.

I ordered the hot chicken sandwich, which was basically chicken tenders on a bun. My wife had a salad with chicken. The food came out of the kitchen in about 15 minutes. My sandwich was pretty good, though not a bit spicy as I had expected. I had also ordered a side salad. The cucumbers looked a bit tired. My wife’s salad was ample, and her chicken was cooked right. The food was OK but a bit pricy.

Our server was very good. I had no issues with the service or the speed to receive our food.

Nice place to get together with friends. The burger meat is fantastic and the onion rings amazing but the rest is average. Pickles had no taste, fries were heavy and had a strong potato taste, and tots tasted more cheese than potato. Ordered a few things custom and they arrived wrong so be mindful if you’re picky.

Stopped in for dinner and drinks. First, service was great. Waitress and other staff were accommodating and very friendly. The drinks were solid and reasonably priced. The food was very underwhelming. The burger was small and a bit over cooked. The homemade tater tots had potential and looked great but also fell flat. Chicken on the otherwise solid salad was raw. Would maybe come back for drinks or dessert. 3.6/5 -BJ

Me and the wife have came here before. Food was super delicious. We got the bootlegger and fries and the fried pickles. All of it was good. Service was good. One thing to me tip. When we came in the hostess was eating and had a full mouth. They should really get a break.

This place is great, burgers are wonderful, salad is good, milkshakes are so so good, and the service is extremely friendly. My husband received his milkshake for free for his birthday as a gift, it was an idea of the waiter who served us, amazing service, and thank you for that. We are living in Cincinnati, and this is the first time that we arrived in Akron, Ohio. This restaurant is so recommended

This is my first food experience in Akron and it did not disappoint! The homemade tater tots were BEYOND FANTASTIC! I have a fear now that I might have to try and find a recipe to duplicate that. Otherwise I’ll have to drive over 400 miles to come back!

The burger I had was excellent. I believe it was called the Local Yolkel. Dangggg it was good. It was like a triple threat of protein!…. burger, bacon, and egg! So so so good and I highly recommend it.

Emily took great care of me tonight and Max did a stellar job with being my host! Great customer service! Thank you much and please pass my compliments on to the chef!

My experience in the past have been really good. I went on Father’s day and my experience wasn’t so pleasant. At least my food wasn’t I ask for a medium well burger and everything but. It was dry and very well cook. The waitress ask if I wanted a replacement I said no because I didn’t have time. However my Son enjoyed his Chicken Sandwich. I was disappointed that they didn’t have the Chipotle Mayo anymore but hey it is what it is. Will I return probably not don’t want to waste my hard earned money on a dry Burger.

Best burgers in Fairlawn, the Rail only use local meats, and they are Good.
Saturday evening for an earlier dinner, the place was at medium capacity, they took our order pretty quickly and the food was at our table 15 minutes later, the burgers we ordered where perfectly cooked, they are very accommodating, my daughter requested a chicken Patti insisted of meat for of the special burgers. Keep it like this, congratulations.

A more upscale burger and bar experience with hand crafted burgers and a wide selection of drinks. I had a wedge salad as my side (unless you LOVE blue cheese, ask them to go light on the crumbles, or go for them on the side). I also had a Blue Bessie burger ( yes,I know I doubled up on the blue cheese). The burger was great, although a bit under seasoned. Service was excellent, but there was an long delay between my salad and burger. Great atmosphere, I look forward to my next burger here!

The hamburger and salad wedge were truly exceptional. My son recommended it, and he was absolutely correct. Cooked to order, medium-rare, with Ohio bacon, sautéed mushrooms and onions, Provolone cheese, balsamic glaze, and house-made truffle aioli. The locally sourced beef was flame-grilled to order and perfectly layered with toppings. The salad wedge was delightful with its blue cheese dressing, and the onion rings were some of the best I have ever tasted. Our server was attentive and responsive. I highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list of places to visit. It is my favorite place for a burger, and I will certainly return. The photo depicts my last bite.
