The ambition is there, the staff is very nice, the hot Negroni was amazing.
But the food lacked some spices and character, now it was very well prepared and everything was pleasant, but just left os a bit bored.
We went for mix and match, and 5 different small dishes.
Pricing was fair.
Wine selection was god.

We were really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately it turned out to be far too expensive for what was on offer. Even with the early bird deal, it still didn’t feel like good value. To be clear, we were aware of the prices beforehand and we would have been happy to pay that, but sadly the quality of the food just didn’t justify the cost. It’s clear they’re trying hard to create something special, but sadly they’re missing the mark and it was very average. On a positive note, the staff were lovely and the restaurant itself was nicely presented – but overall, the food simply isn’t worth the money.

Fantastic little restaurant. A little bit pricey, but if you want to treat yourself, it’s well worth it.
Food was fantastic, the ginger loaf with the goats curd was fantastic. I would suggest getting the veg with the mackerel but overall worth the walk to get.
The star reduction was because they forgot my Americano at the end.
In summary, if you’re in the area and stuck with were to go I would say you should go and try!

Delicious spot for lunch! Outstanding little restaurant/brasserie/bistro spot with a small but very well executed menu. The food was some of the best I ate in Lancaster. Fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. The place is small but feels larger than it is and is very bright and airy. The quality of the staff matched the quality of everything else, top notch. Definitely check this place out if you’re hungry in Lancaster. The Lancashire Benedict is highly recommended!!

We visited the Quaterhouse last night and really enjoyed our meal.
The cocktails were very nice, we particularly enjoyed the summer sangria. We ordered 5 small plates and 3 sides which was a good amount for the 2 of us. We really liked the pressed potato chips, king prawns and garlic French toast however this was a bit spicy!
There were a few things that could be improved. The toilet needed a bit of work, there wasn’t a coat hook for example and some of the finishes were worn down. We were also given a dirty knife and they didn’t have the scallops which was disappointing and we were told until after we had ordered.
At the end of our meal we saw someone order the surf and turf which looked amazing. We would order that if we were to return.
Overall a lovely meal, with a few tweaks it would be excellent.

Recommend the vinho verde with food, any dishes! Great food, the wild pigeon was fantastic as well as all the dishes in the pictures. The oysters are fresh and the supplier is great.
Had my birthday meal here and I loved it, only recommendation is a bigger deal with birthdays, maybe a glass of Prosecco upon arrival. This detail didn’t make my experience worse, I had a lovely time!

The food was delightful—creative, delicious, and thoroughly enjoyable. We had a great selection of nibbles and hot dishes, all of which we loved. The girl who served us was very sweet, and while her service was appreciated, we expected a slightly higher standard. She seemed a bit overwhelmed, and while listing ingredients is helpful, a more engaging and knowledgeable narration of the dishes would better reflect their exceptional quality. Otherwise, the food risks being undersold. Just a friendly suggestion.

Fantastic restaurant. The food was a real surprise. So tasty, so fresh, so appetising. Especially enjoyed the Scallop in Romescu sauce and the Pork belly with black pudding, it literally was melt in your mouth tender. Can’t wait to come back again.

Me and my partner came here for dinner over the weekend, the service was incredible, food was perfect and the atmosphere was lovely. We had 3 of the small plates each and shared them between the table so we all got a bit of everything, the portion sizes were perfect. We absolutely can’t wait to come back again!
