The Quarter is a Southern Pub serving up incredible southern pub food along with classic cocktails and local beer. We offer some of the best wings, small plates, sandwiches, Large plates and the most delicious desserts baked in house by Chef Sherryl. Our decor is inviting and allows for a comfortable at home feel. It’s party time at or great social bar that allows for all to relax and enjoy great food and drink. We offer a Social Hour(happy hour) daily from 4pm to 6pm that offers great discounts. We are focused to become a go-to restaurant in Newtown as Lucas Local was before moving to Southbury CT. The idea was to fill a niche with our culinary team to bring something new to town and we did just that. Southern pub food at your doorstep.

We were waiting for this place to open because we love Centrico and it’s the under same ownership so we were so excited when we saw they finally opened.
ATMOSPHERE: The inside is so cozy and tastefully appointed. The bar is moody with plenty of personal space and plenty of seats. Loved the bar
STAFF: They are fabulous… Mason the bartender was super attentive and knowledgeable and Cait the manager will help you pick the perfect dish that you’re in the mood for, while always having some fun insight on the restaurant.
FOOD: The menu is different and eclectic in the best way. A much needed addition to this area, which is surrounded by boring and run of the mill restaurants.
The menu is packed with with a diverse gorgeous selection of appetizers and entrees. For appetizers we opted for the crab cakes and gumbo (highly recommend both). Entrees he ordered the special which a Cajun boil and I ordered the shrimp & grits. The shrimp and grits come with a shrimp toast which I fell in love with.
COCKTAILS: I had the boulvadier and Sazerac…. Yes to both and he had the Kent falls hazy ipa that he really enjoyed.
We want to come back for the Po Boy sandwiches and just come back in general. Loved it!

First time here. Great atmosphere and really friendly service. Food was good with some ups and downs. Catfish appetizer was delicious. Lightly battered, tender and juicy. A must try. Poutine was poutine if that makes sense. Was good but think I am not a lover of poutine. Pimento cheese dip was very good but the toasted bread it came with was too crunchy to really enjoy the dip, would have been better if the bread had a little softness in it. Charred caesar was tasty. Short ribs were tender and full of flavor, definitely a must try. Mac and cheese was a disappointment. Lacked flavor and was grainy not smooth and creamy. Fried chicken was definitely crunchy and juicy on the inside but also didn’t seem to have a lot of flavor. The apple tart was delicious, but unfortunately the beignets were not. They were too dark (fried a little too long) and while crunchy on the outside they weren’t soft on the inside Catfish and short ribs were the two best bites we had. Since they just opened and are likely still working out the kinks we will definitely be back again for another visit. Giving a 4 since there were some strong dishes and thinking the ones that were not will improve as the restaurant matures.

NOLA here in CT. We were excited to see The Quarter finally open after a lot of renovations. We loved Lucas Local and now love the new space. The antique home has been transformed and the new space is wonderful, plus live piano! Nice touch Vincent.
The crab cakes were an excellent starter. Braised short rib is perfectly done and tuna special was delicious. The cocktails are unique and authentic to the NOLA style.

The Quarter is one of my new favorite restaurants! It’s a cute, intimate space with cool decorations on the walls (trombones, NOLA pictures, old fashioned signs, a sweet oyster painting) and neat old bottles and plates. The food is super good, and if you are unfamiliar with Southern style food, the menu is full of variety so you’re bound to find someone you’ll enjoy! They even have mock tails, not just the boring Shirley Temples but actual nicely created mock tails with tasty syrups and juices!
Don’t forget to order dessert & laissez les bon temps rouler! 🙂

Very nicely remodeled. Very nice New Orleans themed decor. Nice bar and quality job. Service was knowledgeable and attentive. Bread was very good with a flavorful butter. Always a good first impression. Scallops, John Dorey (fish), jambalaya and rib eye all delicious. My steak was top notch. Lots of interesting menu items. Crab cake starter tops as well with good lump meat not just breading. For certain going again. Nice to have another higher end place nearby in Newtown!! Worth a trip.

The atmosphere here is on point. The catfish nuggets and shrimp and grits were both delicious, but my husband did wish the Nashville hot chicken was a bit spicier. For me, the highlight was the beignets which are easily among the best restaurant desserts I’ve ever had.

Vince Cappelletti has done it again and hit it out of the park! We visited The Quarter on its premier night and the experience was amazing! The decor is lovely, the vibe is New Orleans at its best and the food and drinks are to die for! The menu is unique with something for everyone. We decided to split four of the “small plates” (they were fair from small): gumbo, pimento cheese dip, crab cakes and catfish nuggets, each was better than the next. We will be coming back, again and again, to try the other options. The shrimp and grits sound amazing! We finished up with beignets that were light and satisfying. You never would have known it was opening night. The service was smooth and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Vince is the consummate host. He was everywhere last night, greeting people, expediting ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Hold onto your hats people, The Quarter is going to be the new hot spot in the area!

Great new addition to Newtown food scene – fun take on Cajun that is mostly authentic with a BBQ flair.
Prickly Pear margarita and Vieux Carre we’re both solid drinks, the bartender definitely knew what they were doing.
We split the catfish nuggets, which were delicious. My wife had the shrimp and grits, which was super rich and flavorful.
My Nashville Hot chicken sandwich was a bit of a letdown because it wasn’t spicy at all. It made for a pretty good fried chicken sandwich, but I was in the mood for some heat.
The beignets redeemed them for a 5th star, one of the best desserts we’ve ever had at a restaurant.
Staff were very friendly and attentive, atmosphere was great. Live piano was a nice touch. We will be back soon!
