Politics – it takes a lot of courage to take a stand against hate in a red county during these times. Kudos. Much appreciated.
Food – the burnt end pork belly bites were perfect. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. The juicy Italian sausage had just the right amount of heat, and the brisket was tender but slightly dry. The sauces were delicious. Hubby especially liked the mustard forward sauce!
The sides – amazing. The greens were perfectly tart and not mushy. Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty, and the delicious chicken corn chowder had a touch of heat that we both loved. The cornbread – chef’s kiss.
Service – the guys working were friendly, professional, and attentive. What more could you ask for?
We sat out back, and the staff brought out our meal quickly.
We popped open the containers, and my first impression was that it looked a bit dry. We dove in and pigged out
The smoked meats were delicious, the ribs and burnt ends that looked dry were moist and full of flavor. The brisket bark was absolutely delicious. The mac n cheese was like mom used to make. The only criticism I would have is that the cornbread was dry, and the beans were just not my liking.
I have tried BBQ all over the country, and this was a standout
The flavors are incredible—some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. But here’s the deal: they have specific hours and often **sell out**, so plan accordingly. Don’t wait until dinner time or you might show up to find the doors closed and the smoker empty (trust me, it’s heartbreaking).
We usually grab our food to-go and enjoy it at the beach or at a nearby picnic spot, but they also offer indoor seating if you prefer to stay. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, make this place a priority when you’re in town.
**Bonus for gluten-free folks:** they offer a **gluten-free barbecue sauce**—just be sure to ask when ordering to get the right one.
Pro tip: pick up your food earlier in the day and stash it in your cooler or fridge if needed—you won’t regret it!
Thank you all so much!
Quickly greeted and was directed to menus. A surprisingly large number of menu offerings are crossed out with black marker. Ordered pork belly burnt tips and macaroni and cheese. The wait time was almost nothing.
Macaroni and cheese hit the spot!! The burnt tips were ok.
The staff here is very friendly. Restaurant is very clean with numerous art work for sale covering the walls. The food is ok.
