Everything we ate was absolutely fantastic. Those piquillo peppers and milk braised pork shoulder are 10/10. I’m excited to go back and try the other items soon! I know my rating is only 4/5, and it’s subject to go higher, but I was quite disappointed that even though we had a reservation, they sat us at a crowded bar near the front door. In the cold months, if forced to sit at the bar, ask to be on the far side away from the door. It got uncomfortably cold. If the reservation said “bar seating” I’d be more understanding, but there were several empty tables for 2 available at our 5:30 timeslot (and bartops for 2)….yet bar it had to be. Mind you no one sat at those empty seats for the 1.5hrs we were there too.

Ok, /rant aside, I recognize it was their soft launch, and some servers have some things to iron out. Realistically, I think the launch went well. I’d definitely recommend this place. Drinks were good, the main seating area looking warm and inviting. Make sure to get a reservation, might need to call and confirm main dining area seating though 😉

Wonderful food.

Light and filling without being heavy. Everything made in house.

Nice service.

Their market is staffed by a little bit younger and less experienced staff, but they were very cheerful.

All around excellent – service was attentive from the hostess stand, to the managers actively circulating and attending to guests, to our server who was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, personably and otherwise great.

One of our diners is a vegetarian, and we were happily surprised to see such a nice array of vegetarian options, as well as suggested modifications by our server for many meat-containing options that could be made vegetarian. As an omnivore myself – everything was great between the veg dishes and those containing meat/fish.

Super excited to have this location so close to us now! We will be back again without a doubt.

Excellent experience at the Purple Pig. The service was outstanding and atmosphere lively and modern, but quite comfortable. However, it was the food that was truly remarkable. Every dish was outstanding – the Pig Ears are very pickled-forward. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to go back.

I was really excited when Purple Pig finally opened! However, I was sadly disappointed with my experience. I arrived at 6:30pm on a Wednesday, sat at the bar, the restaurant was not busy, however, service was extremely slow. We had to flag down a bartender every time we wanted another drink or to order food. In the two hours I was there I only received 2 drinks, 1 app, and 1 very delayed entree. I had to ask about my entree twice as we waited an hour for it and it never arrived until after I brought it up for a third time. The bartender sincerely apologized as she admitted she forgot to put my order in. But when the bill came at the end there was no compensation whatsoever for the mistake. Overall, the drinks were good, not great/nothing special. The food was ok, nothing special and tiny portions. I’m at least giving two stars bc the ambiance is really cute inside and the staff is super nice – from the hostess to the runners/bussers to the bartenders, everyone was friendly, so that was appreciated. There are just too many other good restaurants in the area that excel in all areas (food/beverage/service/ambiance) to make it worth returning here.

The Purple Pig at Oakbrook Center, brings bold Mediterranean flavors and shareable plates. The food was delicious and perfectly portioned for sharing, with fresh, creative twists on classics. Our server Darma was amazing—super knowledgeable, attentive, and made spot-on recommendations while keeping everything flowing smoothly. Great addition to the suburbs; highly recommend!

My critique is of the market only.
My latte was tepid
No sugar free syrup and no artificial sweeteners
Pizza was not warmed sufficiently
Utensils and boxing for the pizza were inadequate
Wait staff was not knowledgeable or professional
