Tried The Purple Pig after a friend recommended it.

I didn’t know what to get and the girl at the counter helped us with some suggestion’s.

My husband and I split the 3 meat platter and it was excellent. The Mac and cheese was creamy and the hush puppies were hot and well fried. I don’t know what the sauce is that goes with them but it was great with everything.
Tots were crispy I will definitely get those again and loaded. The brisket was good and the pulled pork was great without sauce. The pulled chicken was smoked and really our favorite. Will have to try that on other things. Will be coming back here for sure.

Happened to be in Boston for work and was able to find this local BBQ gem in Marlborough. Family owned and operated, friendly staff that was welcoming. Joe was awesome, answered all my questions and offered samples. I ordered ribs, pulled pork, brisket, sausage, Mac & Cheese, tater tots, cornbread, and dessert to top it off. Ribs were amazing, “pig sauce” was great. Pulled pork, brisket, Mac & Cheese were all good. Cornbread and dessert I had to take to go, portion sizes are generous. Glad I stopped in, definitely worth the trip if you’re in the area.

Fall-off-the-bone, perfectly cooked, smoky BBQ ribs? Yes please. My third trip to Purple Pig solidified the 5 star.

I’ve had the pulled pork bowl, straight pulled pork with sides, and finally the ribs. All cooked unbelievably well and seasoned nicely. Sides always hit.

Stopped here after a soccer game and got the combo #1 brisket. The service was incredibly slow, when we finally got our meal we had to pack it in a Togo box.
Brisket was dry. Mac and cheese tasted like it had been fresh hours before and reheated in a microwave. Would not return

If you’re looking for the real deal TRUE BBQ taste, look no further than this gem!

Being from Texas, I hold a very HIGH standard to BBQ, especially when it comes to brisket.

I’ve been in the NE area since March and have been visiting Kosa next door since then. Every time I pick up my goodies, I always smell The Purple Pig and was tempted to try but never gave in until recently.

Our shop just moved down the road, and the other day after work I had a gut feeling and said to myself “it’s time to try the pig”

Unfortunately, I arrived a little too late and the last bit of brisket was sold for the night. However, the girl behind the counter talked me into the Burnt Ends which I ordered on the Mac & Cheese (not pictured here) and turned out to be beyond my expectations.

While waiting for my food, I was scrolling through my phone minding my own, and heard outta nowhere “Hey, are you from Texas?”
Turns out, a former coworker of mine from years back working back home, was standing there and recognized me!
Completely mind blown!! Years apart, 2k miles from where we worked, millions of people in between, and we cross paths in a BBQ spot in the middle of Massachusetts of all places!!!

Today I decided I was going to catch the brisket before it sold out.
And that it did!!!

Again, I ordered with the Mac & Cheese because its so dang cheesy and delicious, definitely made from scratch and not a box!!

The brisket was exactly what I expected after trying the Burnt Ends the first time.
Flavorful, juicy, lean and tender! The bark, smoke ring, and overall appearance and taste made me feel back at home!! Seriously, I fell into a comfort state of bliss where for a moment it was as if I was sitting back in Texas enjoying it with family and friends!!

Please keep doing exactly what it is you are doing! I’m Proud of you and Texas would be too!

I just tried The Purple Pig for the first time, and wow, I’m seriously impressed! The customer service was friendly and welcoming, and my order came out super quickly, which is perfect for a lunch break.

I ordered the three-meat combo and got to try the ribs, brisket, and burnt ends, along with mac and cheese, cowboy beans, and cornbread and everything was absolutely delicious. The meats were tender and flavorful, the sides were comforting and perfectly seasoned, and the cornbread tied everything together.

Hands down one of the best barbecue lunches I’ve had in a long time. I’ll definitely be back lol probably at least once a week for lunch now!

Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!!

Wow, talk about the most delicious cornbread ever to hit these tastebuds. This was it, no butter needed but when I put just a dab on, the entire flavor profile elevated. Seriously, it was an experience in itself. The cowboy beans are second to none, they had huge pieces of smoked pork and sweet as you would want, without crossing into candy land. The chicken wings are huge and tasty, went with the BBQ because that flavor…… mind blown. The pork nachos did the job and were plenty filling. Collard greens and the Texas meat chili slapped!!! This is BBQ at it best and I will make the hour plus ride anytime. The staff are amazing, they are proud of the product served and every one smiled as the accolades abound could not be held back. Good food and service this good has to be complimented. The three little pigs panini is outstanding! The sandwich has balance with the pickle cutting the mustard (did you see what I did there) so well that the sandwich stood tall with the accompanying tater tots. They are in a league of their own, for sure!!! You have to check this place, not one BBQ lover could ever have expectations that they wouldn’t meat! (I did it again)
Salute!!!

The first time I came here, it was great! I got a Combo 1, which comes with a meat, two sides, and corn bread. The second time, I got food for both my wife and I so I got a Combo 2 to get two meats. Turns out they do half as much of each meat and charge $5 more. And so you end up with just two little pieces of brisket if you order that. I got that one more time and was again surprised by how little we got. I finally asked about it and found out about how they halve it. So this time I got a combo 1 to just get a decent portion of brisket. I also ordered an extra side order of fried okra. The other times I ordered the fried okra, it was a huge container of fresh, hot okra. This time, it was a tiny, dry handful of it. And we got three little pieces of brisket. It took forever to get my order together. I think they forgot about me. And they got one of my sides wrong.

I’m tired of worrying about what I’ll get from this place, so I guess I’m done coming here.

We’ve eaten at a lot of BBQ Joints and this was hands down the best in North East. Brisket and burnt ends were cooked to perfection and the chicken took us by surprise too! It was chopped not pulled which we enjoyed.
Best side was the street corn sautee.
Cornbread to die for!!
Mac n cheese is always hit or miss at bbq places just because it can get oily or crumbly by nature of having to sit for a while and we felt theirs was much better than most. Stayed creamy and cheesy!
Sauces are limited but they mastered the 2 they had.
Not really a sit down restaurant limited seating order at counter and no bathroom. But if you know that ahead of time it shouldn’t affect your experience!
My bf and I split the 3 meat combo (with 2 sides) & it was more than enough

This place seems to be hit or miss, 2 good times, 2 bad. This last time I ordered the pulled pork and brisket. I got so much fat in both pieces but the pulled pork essentially had 2 pieces of meat. It felt like my cowboy beans had more pork than the portion of pulled pork I got. I understand bbq requires fatty meats but to serve someone this much is disappointing.

Update to response (8/3): We called right away. Were told the manager was in a meeting and would be an hour. The meal was in the trash by the time we got a returned call the NEXT day.
I don’t appreciate challenging my review. Look at my history, I’m not out to get places and as I said hit or miss bc I didn’t write a review the first time I didn’t like my meal, I gave you more chances. I agree that piece of brisket looks like crap….you DID serve it. The meal is “half eaten” bc I had to pull the fat out and I did try to have some assuming it would be meat before I had to stop myself. See the other half of the container for the fat.
Added a picture before I had to pick the fat out of the pulled pork and that the brisket was half cut and then shredded.
