Our 1st visit to the Purple Pear. Although dated inside, i can’t say anything bad about the food or the service. The food was cooked to perfection, and not everyone can get seafood cook well. They did. Flavorful and well plated. Vegetables were lovely as was the chicken I had. Our party enjoyed the chicken and seafood in a creamy white wine sauce, salmon and chicken and mushroom Linguine. Nice portionnsize and enough to take home. A must try.

Went to the Purple Pear for a family birthday celebration and were happy we decided to go to this cozy, old school, cozy restaurant. We had been here before and we’re always happy with the experience and we’re not disappointed on this occasion. As always the staff was inviting and attentive and a special thank you to our server who was kind and patient with my elderly mother who was having difficulty choosing a dinner. The owner, Victor was friendly and helpful as always as he made his way around to each and every table making all of his patrons feel welcomed.
The food was outstanding, steaks cooked to perfection and served with interesting and delicious sides. It was a perfectly timed dinner with no one hurrying things along as we find happens in many other restaurants. This made our experience even more
enjoyable as we able to enjoy good food and conversation without feeling rushed.
All together a great dinner at a great price … thank you Victor and Debby of the Purple Pear for having us over for dinner !!

The owner is very friendly and accommodating. My girlfriend’s family has been coming here to celebrate special occasions for over a decade and it never disappoints. The food was incredibly delicious, and they have a good variety for all appetites. I look forward to my next visit

Food has become corporate, big box and to find the little guy who cares is a real treat.
We arrived when the restaurant opened, there was a line forming and Victor greeted us at the door.
The restaurant has a flare of an old steak house as it was Martin’s previously.
The decor is nice and the environment super clean.
The food and service was spectacular and the bread set the stage.
You can tell if the epicurial experience will be good from the bread and wow it truly performed,
We started with escargot, and pleasantly recieved many more than the traditional 6 dimple plate holds. It was delicious!
Mom and I both ordered the sea bass, the fish was perfectly prepared and the potato croquette was my highlight.
It is formed like a pear and tantalizes the palate.
This place is well visited by regulars and we’ll most definitely be back!

A date night to remember <3 As we stepped foot into this Hamilton gem, we were immediately transported back to a classy evening out in 1994. From the velvet curtains, and mirrored walls to the stained-glass signage, every detail has been appreciated and cared for over the years, as are its patrons. Service was thoughtful and well-paced. Food was hot and delicious! Not to mention, the prices fair! Regardless of the place hosting a few larger parties, the energy still felt intimate and cozy. I really hope this place sticks around for years to come. Its places like these that age like fine wine ♥️

Wow what a spot! Everything we ordered was out of this world, all seafood cooked with the love of tenderness. The steak was seared and seasoned to perfection, the fresh baked buns. Food took awhile but it was well worth it..
Even though we arrived just before our 6pm reservation and just as we finished our main course, at around 7:00 they came and gave us our bill without asking us if we wanted coffee or dessert?
Seemed very strange.. we were only there for just 1 hour??
After we paid the waitress then came and asked if we wanted coffee or dessert.. ?
Otherwise it was a fabulous meal.. and we would definitely come back …
Maybe just a overbooking situation as it was a Friday night..and they are only open from 5 to 9 pm..

Was amazing it’s been awhile since we came here the first time and fell in love with the restaurant as a whole. We finally found time to come back tonight and we’re so happy and full after. Did our wedding anniversary dinner here and we enjoyed it immensely. The ambiance reminds you that this is a classic and historical staple in Hamilton region, established in the mid 90s and continues to impress area residents today.
