The place did look kind of abandoned at first but the sign said open so we tried it out. The food was good, my wife had to ask for the cheese for her fries but they fixed it no problem. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I ordered the beef shawarma, and it was undercooked—grilled but not properly cooked like a traditional shawarma. The service was poor. I initially ordered two shawarmas and two Coke Zeros, but they didn’t have Coke Zero and were only serving two drink options from the soda machine. I ended up canceling one shawarma and both drinks. The total should have been 10.10 but got charged $12.09, then I was charged $13 because the cashier didn’t have change. The food was overly salty and didn’t taste like authentic shawarma. Overall, not a place I would recommend. Their health score from March was only 83, which now makes sense. I should also note, as you can see in picture, they had no cash register to track orders and the place looked like a ghost town. If this is a franchise, you would think Purple Onion would have certain standards.

I ordered 2, 13 dollar philly subs 2 hommis dip. I had u er deliver it. My order was missing a philly sandwich and I called to tell them. The manager called me a liar. Total oder 35 dollars. Refused to fix. Why would I make up somethg like that. That is theft by deception. Paying for a service or product and never receiving it. Bive ate at Purple Onion my entire life and this manager at Moody store is the worst service I hSve ever received in my entire 57 yrs of my life. I truly couldn’t believe this ladies unprofessionalism. I’ll never eat at that store again. I also received fries that I never ordered and told her that as well. She said no no no everythg was. In my order and the entire order was wrong. Tried to tell he. My onlyexpectation was for her to make me my 13 dollar sandwich I payed for and never received. That is stealing in my book. What Abt yours????

The Purple Onion in Moody, Alabama was beyond expectations. We have never eaten here and didn’t know what to expect. Cannot understand a review any lower than 5 stars. The only thing we could think of to change would be Earth friendly packaging, that’s it!

Next, love the idea of a restaurant with a drive-through. No, this is not fast food this is restaurant quality meals! The menu was good with healthy options. We will definitely come by Moody to go to the Purple Onion again! The shrimp kabob was delicious and a heart healthy amt of veggies. Will be back! Thank you.

Service was friendly and fast, but the gyro was really bad. Meat was dry and crunchy and the pita was more like a tortilla that was toasted. Fries were good though.

Says open, looks abandoned though. Lights on in lobby area but nowhere else. Looks kind of run down. Abandoned car in parking lot.

Gyro meat was cold and overcooked like beef jerky. Waitress apologized and had the cooks make another. If you’re used to eating a real gyro this is not the place to find one. No tzatziki sauce, tomatoes or onions. Lettuce, meat and a little bit of orange sauce?? is what you get.

3 orders with fries and drink for $45

I love Purple Onion but this one is vile. Just got home with two chicken kabob plates. The rice is full of either extremely overcooked rice or uncooked rice which is hard and inedible. The pita was half soggy and half hard as a rock which makes me think it was in the foil wrap at least all day today. The hummus is runny and tastes terrible. The chicken isn’t awful but not much flavor. Was excited to have a purple onion by the house. Womp womp

Food was just ok. Not enough pita for the hummus. The salad was drowning in dressing, I couldn’t eat it

Kind of hard to rate your business anything higher than a 1 star when your online presence says you are open today, December 23rd at 1:43pm in the afternoon but your doors are locked and no one answers the phone and there is no sign on the door.
