Great pizza. It took me a minute, but I saw the purple and assumed I was at the right place. Folks came in and out for their takeout. Pizza was delicious, and the service was on point

The cheesy bread is super good! The sauce that comes with it however is not. The pizza is also not good, I’m not sure if it’s just the sauce that caused the pizza to not be good, because the texture of the crust was decent; and so was the cheese on it (neither were the best but they weren’t bad)
The workers weren’t friendly either.

Great pizza loaded with toppings, nice crust, excellent subs. I dropped my wallet when i was picking up an order and they went above and beyond to get it back to me. Wonderful customer service

Purple Indian
Pizza – chicken bacon Alfredo only half with mushrooms. Good alfredo sauce, nice portion of toppings and crispy crsut. IMO they have the best pizza in Mt. Gilead.
Garlic knots eh ok not much garlic flavor. But cooked well.
Wings spicy buffalo. Decent sauce not much heat for me. But i like ghost peppers ♂️ They are baked not fried. Not crispy but cooked well and nicely sauced. I would put them at my #3 for wings around Mt Gilead.
The Staff was very friendly, polite and fast.

I used to love this place however the quality has gone downhill drastically. The customer service was abhorrent. The management was extremely rude for no apparent reason. Welcome to the New Year….time for a new pizza place. Do not waste your time or your money.

Purple Indian has been a local favorite for as long as I can remember. They switched owners a couple years ago but kept the same recipe. It is as good as ever in my opinion. You can dine in or take out. Recently it cost $27 for a large pizza, a sub and an order of parmesan garlic knots, it was enough to feed three adults with left overs.
Purple Indian is located on State Route 95 on the west side of Mount Gilead behind Subway and the car wash. It is barely visible from the road. Pull in between Subway and Park National Bank and drive all the way to the back. There is a small paved lot directly in front of the of the restaurant with a gravel overflow lot off to the east.
Placing an order is difficult because the phone is always busy. I wish there was an online ordering option. It looks like you might be able to through a third party website but I’ve never tried it.

Food was good, I’ve ate here occasionally since I was a little girl. I don’t know what’s changed, but we definitely did not feel welcome eating there. We were traveling through and decided to call ahead, so we could just eat when we got there . The dining room lights were off . We asked when they closed and she said they closed in an hour. She acted annoyed of our existence and went right back to gossiping loudly!

I have heard about this pizza for years and tonight driving through I thought why not try it. This pizza was absolutely phenomenal!!! The service was outstanding and the price was right on for a good quality pizza. Cause of an injury I couldn’t navigate their steps with the pizza and cane I have and the gentleman that took my call to order was top shelf service. He was very polite and insane said he would bring it out and would take my card in to run and bring back out to me. I have to say one of my BEST customer service times ever!!! If you haven’t tried this place you are so missing out. A real Gem tucked away behind a car wash. I will be having this on speed dial to call in or order online. Just wish I could give a higher rating than 5 stars. Thank you Purple Indian for the tremendously delicious pizza and A1 service!!!

The pizza is one of my favorites in the area! They have great customer service. It’s so popular prepare to wait when ordering but it’s worth the wait. I loved their Stromboli.

This was our first visit to the Purple Indian. Neither of us live in Mt Gilead so it’s a new experience for us. Very friendly service by all I interacted with. We went with the cauliflower crust bacon chicken Alfredo pizza and it was delicious! It doesn’t have a really noticeable cauli flavor and I wondered for a moment if we got a regular crust but after a few bites I could taste the cauli a bit. The crust had a delightful chewiness but was crisp too. Held the toppings without any flop. This comes with mushrooms and normally I do not care for them at all but they too were delicious! The sauce was not overpoweringly rich but velvety and smooth! They use a good amount of cheese that is full of flavor too! So the pizza for me was a 5!
Restaurant has the option to eat on site but the place is an open kitchen so if you’re wanting a nice restaurant ambiance it’s not gonna happen. It’s loud yes but that’s what I expect from the design. No qualms for me. We got our order to go so we sat and waited at a table. Restroom was clean and for me that’s a plus!
If there was anything we were disappointed in it was that our order was set on top of the oven and kinda forgotten. It was busy so they had 2 prepping crusts and 3 making the pies. When the time we were told it should be ready was up we stood near the register thinking it wouldn’t take long to get our food. Not sure how long it was but eventually we were asked for the name and our pizza was found.
That being said we understand things happen…it was the first game for high school football (our reason for being there) so we figured that may have contributed to it being as busy as it was. We would definitely go back again if in the area!
